Yesterday we learnt that when the long hand point to the 6, we say it is half past. This means it is 30 minutes past the hour.
On a digital clock, we write it as :30 because it is 30 minutes past the hour. Look at the examples below.

Thursday 4th June 2020Adding 3 numbers together
Today we will be adding three numbers together.
When we add three numbers together, it is a clever idea to look for the number bonds to 10 or doubles first.
Look at the sum below:
6 + 4 + 3 = ___
Step 1: Look for the number bonds to 10 or doubles and add them together.I know that 6 + 4 equals 10.
Step 2: Add the remaining number.
The remaining number is 3 so 10 + 3 = 13.
Watch the YouTube link for this on our SWECET
channel.

When we add three numbers together, it is a clever idea to look for the number bonds to 10 or doubles first.
Look at the sum below:
3 + 5 + 3 = ___
Step 1: Look for the number bonds to
10 or doubles and add them together.
I know that double 3 is 6.
Step 2: Add the remaining number.
The remaining number is 5 so 6 + 5 = 11.

When we add three numbers together, it is a clever idea to look for the number bonds to 10 or doubles first.
Look at the sum below:
7 + 4 + 3 = ___
Step 1: Look for the number bonds to
10 or doubles and add them together.
I know that 7 + 3 equals 10.
Step 2: Add the remaining number.
The remaining number is 4 so 10 + 4 = 14.

Activity:
Complete the additions below. Remember to spot the bonds to 10 or doubles first!
4 + 6 + 3 = ___
5 + 3 + 5 = ___
2 + 7 + 2 = ___
2 + 6 + 8 = ___
7 + 4 + 4 = ___
7 + 6 + 3 = ___
Challenge:
Can you work out what the missing number in each number sentence is?
3 + 3 + ___ = 8
4 + 6 + ___ = 13
__ + 4 + 4 = 11
8 + 2 + ___ = 16
