Hello again everyone!

Here’s the work for the week commencing 4th May. We will post answers for you on Thursday 7th May so you can check your work (because the Friday is a bank holiday)!

We will put this work on the school website but also send it out via the 2Email section (under computing) on Purple Mash. If you have any questions or need any help, you can email your teacher on there to ask!

Also, the 2Do tasks are set from Monday-Friday (apart from this week they will be set until Thursday), so if you log in at the weekend it may look as though no work has been set, but it should all appear by Monday morning! If you want to do anything extra at the weekends, feel free to log into Purple Mash still and play the games on there!

Arithmetic: Complete the arithmetic questions (below). Answers will sent on Thursday for you to mark.

Complete the arithmetic test (below). Try to only allow yourself to have 25 minutes to complete it in!

Maths: Complete the next 10 minute test in your 10 minute test book. Set yourself a timer, then mark using the answers inside your books.

Writing

Use the VE day thoughts prompt questions to write what you think about VE day celebrations.

Write an invitation to a VE Day street party! Use the writing prompts below – but remember, you would need to stick to rationing!

Science

Using our work from last week on classification keys, gather a minimum of 4 leaves (either from your garden or when you go outside on a walk).

Create a classification key to tell the difference between the types of leaf.

Build your own Spitfire. If you don’t have a printer, you can draw the template by hand!

Research Europe during World War Two and colour in the countries using the key on the map below!

Do some research and create your own VE Day poster! See below for some examples.

Recently, we were lucky enough to have a visit from Don Sheppard, a war veteran. He will be celebrating his 100th birthday on Monday – so please make a card for him to bring back to school when it is time! We can then post them all for a belated birthday surprise
