4. Write three related addition and subtraction facts for 17 – 5 = 12. 17 – 12 = 5, 5 + 12 = 17, 12 + 5 = 17
5. Which isn’t in the 2 x table 6, 10, 3 or 12? Explain how you know. 3 because it can’t be shared into two equal groups.

Can you think of different objects (nouns) for each colour of the rainbow? Once you have the nouns, use the colour thesaurus on the next page to help you create expanded noun phrases for each object, for example instead of red apple I could say crimson apple.

sides. Is Liam correct? Explain your answer. He is incorrect. The shape has 10 sides. I can prove it by marking the sides to show it is a decagon, not a pentagon. He might have
counted the vertices. 3. Explain the mistake £5, £10, £16, £20, £25.
£16 is not in the 5 times table. It should be £15. 4. Put the four towers in order from tallest to
shortest. One is done for you.

The children should be able to place the adjectives before the noun to make an expanded noun phrase. As a challenge, they could add another adjective to describe the object, remembering to use a comma in a list of adjectives e.g. crispy, red apple.

Spellings Can you create a rainbow poem using the format on the next page? Think of something that is the colour, then add a verb to show how that object might move. Challenge: Can you add another adjective after the colour? Maybe you could add an adverb to describe further how the object is moving e.g. smiling happily.
