Reading• Please read with your child each
evening and ensure you sign their Reading Record.
• We will not be hearing your child read individually each week but they will be doing Guided Reading.
Grammar
• Instead of phonics, the children will have daily grammar lessons.
• Your children will be taking a standardised spelling and punctuation assessment at the end of year 2.
• We will provide further information about SATs nearer the time.
Values• Values are very important to support
the children with their learning. • We will be working on a certain Value
over a two week period in order to give the children the skills they need for everyday life.
What you can do to help!• Read daily with your child.• Ensure your child completes the
homework themselves and in PENCIL.
• Practise spellings for their Friday test.
• Continue to raise maths language and general maths awareness through every day activities.
Reminders!• Please label all school uniform,
including shoes, trainers, water bottles etc.
• Please ensure PE kit is in school every day.
• Please ensure water bottles are provided.
