Song Structures

Songs often have similar structures. We use the words verse and chorus but we also use words such as introduction, bridge, pre-chorus, instrumental and outro to explain the structure. How many do you know already? Write down what you think the word means. The first two are already done for you 1) VERSE The music is the same but the lyrics change

2) CHORUS The music and the lyrics are the same. The chorus will keep coming back.

3) PRE-CHORUS

4) INSTRUMENTAL 5) INTRO

6) OUTRO

Your job now is write down the correct structure for some songs. Your teacher will say when each number section is playing, all you have to do is write down the correct word for each section. The first song is called “Friends in Low Places”
