ART ACTIVITY

Today we’re going to be making a mini-book out of one sheet of paper and then decorating it …just follow this Powerpoint for instructions and ideas

For this activity you will need:A sheet of A4 paper

Pencil and a biro/penScissors

Colour pencils …make sure you have everything you need before

you start!

LEARNING PURPOSE

LO1: I will create a themed MINI SKETCHBOOK inspired by my personal

interests.

LO2: I will research imagery using online resources to inspire my MINI

SKETCHBOOK.

LO3: I will aim to apply all media

(pencils, pens, highlighters and paint)

with accuracy to ensure my creation is

successful.

Prior Learning

• Constructing/ Designing products in Yr7 Technology.

• Creating Artworks with Colour, Line and Composition.

• Aiming for neat and accurate

drawing skills.

• Imaginative typography remote

learning tasks.

MINI BOOK ACTIVITY

Take your piece of A4 paper. Pencil some

large doodled lines on it BOTH SIDES of the paper ….they can be straight lines, curvy

lines, spirals …anything you like!

….be bold!

Part 1 – making some lines…

Make sure you draw lines on both sides!

video which will show you how to fold your booklet together …stop and start it until

you have managed to make your

piece of paper into a mini book

The next step is to go over all of your pencil lines

in the booklet with a pen. A

biro will do for this… and you

can rub out any pencil lines once you’ve completed

them all in pen

Part 3 – adding pen work…

It doesn’t have to be super neat – and you can make some pen lines thicker, some thinner. Whilst you are doing this think

about what your shapes/lines could become

Have a look through your booklet….

➢ what do the lines you have suggest to you?

➢ Will you choose an overall theme for your booklet?

➢ How can you make these shapes into part of a

design?➢ Will you add words/text to

your booklet? ➢ Use your imagination to

add some colour and pen work to your booklet now

Part 4 – a theme…This is my front

Now start working into your booklet with colouring pencils

and more biro work

Consider adding words or messages into your compositions

too

Choose a ‘colour set’ for your pages …a maximum of 6 colours

that sit well together

Remember you can blend colours together too!

Enjoy your booklet and create something positive!

I’ve spent all morning on my mini book but it’s still not finished yet!

Don’t worry as you can keep it with you to add to it over the

course of the week…you could write into it too, adding messages

or quotes …it could become a mini diary recording your time in

isolation.
