Year 9 Spanish Revision Guide

This year we are focusing on 5 main topics: 1. Talking about holidays 2. Describing where you stayed on holidays 3. Talking about their life at school and studies 4. Talking about future plans and employment 5. Talking about socialising and family

In this booklet you will find the key vocabulary covered in class. It is up to you to learn it and use it to create sentences and express yourself in Spanish.

Key to success:

Learn vocabulary on Quizlet (www.quizlet.com) daily for 10 minutes each time – Create vocabulary revision cards for each topic using a spider diagram model, and look for new words to extend your vocabulary.

Learn, reinforce or revise key grammar points that you are learning in lessons daily for 15 minutes each time – Complete grammar exercises, re-do exercises completed in class and hide answers, visit www.languagesonline.org.uk to practise grammar

Complete all of your homework – Every week you are given vocabulary homework, and a grammar/production homework. Make sure that you always do them fully and you attempt every question. Avoid leaving questions unanswered and copying homework from someone else.

Read your notes from the previous lesson the before your next Spanish lesson to refresh your newly acquired knowledge. Go over key points and vocabulary, and write down questions if you do not understand something – you will make quicker progress in lessons and your teacher can re-explain any misconceptions. Create a timetable for your independent studies – Remember, every week you need to do:

o 10 minutes of vocabulary learning 5 times a week, 15 minutes of grammar studies twice a week o Attend all Spanish intervention sessions, and if you have Spotify, check out ‘Coffee Break Spanish’.
