The Mission doors have been designated as Doors of
Mercy for this Jubilee year. The Mission San Xavier
del Bac, founded in 1692 by Fr. Eusebio Kino, is a
pilgrimage site with thousands visiting each year. The
Shell motif—a symbol of pilgrimage like the Pilgrim
Shell of the Order—is found throughout the church as
seen above the Doors of Mercy.

broadcasts, worldwide concert tours, and television appearances.
In 1980, Dr. Julian Ackerley was named Director, bringing to the organization extensive teaching experience at all
levels, including three degrees in music with emphasis on music education, choral direction and voice performance.
