GARZON - 2009
• Garzon is a municipality located in the heart of the department of Huila, 450 kilometers south of Bogota, 114 miles south of the capital (Neiva).
• It is known as the Capital Diocesana of Huila for being the first Catholic diocese in the region others were created.
• The town was founded by Francisco Manrique in january 17 in 1783.
• Its temperature is abaut 24° centigrade.
• The municipality is mainly farm of coffee, cocoa and fruits. Fish farming is an important part of their production line thanks to the wealth of water it also exports its products especially to Neiva and Bogota.
SITES OF INTEREST
• Garzon is a rich town in its religious structure. These include the Seminario Conciliar, Convento de las Clarisas, churches such as the Rosario, Nazareth and the Cathedral.
This is the Convento de las Clarisas
with sports fields, halls, rooms, visiting rooms, park with lots of trees that inspire peace and tranquility.
This is the Seminario Conciliar where the future priests of the Catholic religion are. It is also one of the most complete sites of spiritual formation.
This is the cathedral church that is located in the principal park where people gathere for the festivities.
The shopping center the Rosario is a site where you can find variety of local business such as clothing, electrical, fast food, cell phones,
luxury accessories, and much more things, also has 2 banks Megabanco and Bancolombia.
To spend a bit of fun with the family, Garzon has the Hosteria ambeyma, recreational center Manila, AgroPark lomachata and villa olimpica among others.
Hosteria Ambeyma, has 2 swimmingpools, rooms and ample space to take fresh air and rest.
• Garzon is a vibrant city with a large commercial development, populated by people friendly, careful and happy. It could be the place to visit, where you find an agreeable place.
• Between 20 th and 29th june of each year, Garzon receive all Colombians to make its Festival and Reinado Departamental de la Alegría and folklore.
