Cabrellon buys moulding assets of YM NewmarkAs of July 2006, Cabrellon s.r.l. of Italy has purchasedthe chocolate moulding assets of YM Newmark Ltd. ofthe United Kingdom (Yorkshire Moulds). Throughoutthe month of July all of the chocolate mould tools andcustomer records were transferred to Italy. Cabrellon willnow be able to provide the chocolate moulds that York-shire Moulds delivered in the past.

Cabrellon s.r.l. is represented in North America byJason Kaderli of Emkay Confectionery Machinery ofNewtown, Connecticut, USA.

Eckhart Kiesel joins Ciranda teamCiranda, Inc., has announced thatEckhart Kiesel of Chatham, NewYork, has joined the Wisconsin-based organic food ingredient com-pany as vice president of businessdevelopment. Eckhart brings over20 years international experienceworking with organic farming, pro-cessing and distribution, mostrecently as president of Rapunzel Pure Organics USA.Eckhart has worked with organic and fair trade farmersand certification programs in Asia, Africa, Europe andthe Americas.

Ciranda, Inc., imports and distributes certified organicfood ingredients to food manufacturers from five ware-houses across North America. Specialties include Palm-fruit nonhydrogenated oils and shortenings, Cocoa Ricachocolate and cocoa products and tapioca syrups, mal-todextrins, starch and dextrose.

Rovema appoints WinberryRovema Packaging Machines, asupplier of packaging technology,has announced the appointment ofDennis Winberry as the newregional sales manager for theNortheast territory.

Winberry brings over 20 years ofmanagerial experience in the pack-aging industry.

Bosch appoints Pressey for U.S. salesSteve Pressey was recentlyappointed area sales manager of theBosch confectionery and chocolatebusiness unit. Pressey will now bethe contact in sales forBosch/Hansella, Makat andTogum.

He has been with Bosch for 20years, transferring to the packagingdivision 9 years ago. Within the packaging divisionPressey has held the positions of customer service repre-sentative for the confectionery business segment, projectmanager for confectionery and product manager for con-fectionery. He spent 18 months at Bosch’s Viersen facil-ity (the company’s confectionery headquarters) forproduct training of processing equipment.

New book for artisan confectionersChocolates and Confections, written by Peter P. Grewelingand The Culinary Institute of America, will be publishedby John Wiley & Sons and available in January 2007.This book will feature formulas, theories and techniquesfor the artisan confectioner.

Presented in full color, the book includes 140 formu-las and variations including dairy-based center, crys-talline and noncrystalline sugar confectionery, jellies, nutcenter and aerated confections.
