Throughout the month of July all of the chocolate mould tools and customer records were transferred to Italy. Cabrellon will now be able to provide the chocolate moulds that York- shire Moulds delivered in the past. Cabrellon s.r.l. is represented in North America by Jason Kaderli of Emkay Confectionery Machinery of Newtown, Connecticut, USA. Eckhart Kiesel joins Ciranda team Ciranda, Inc., has announced that Eckhart Kiesel of Chatham, New York, has joined the Wisconsin- based organic food ingredient com- pany as vice president of business development. Eckhart brings over 20 years international experience working with organic farming, pro- cessing and distribution, most recently as president of Rapunzel Pure Organics USA. Eckhart has worked with organic and fair trade farmers and certification programs in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. Ciranda, Inc., imports and distributes certified organic food ingredients to food manufacturers from five ware- houses across North America. Specialties include Palm- fruit nonhydrogenated oils and shortenings, Cocoa Rica chocolate and cocoa products and tapioca syrups, mal- todextrins, starch and dextrose. Rovema appoints Winberry Rovema Packaging Machines, a supplier of packaging technology, has announced the appointment of Dennis Winberry as the new regional sales manager for the Northeast territory. Winberry brings over 20 years of managerial experience in the pack- aging industry. With the addition of Winberry, Rovema’s territory alignment is as follows: Rosann Bagin, sales manager midwest; Tom Bishel, sales manager west coast; Jeff Nielsen, sales manager southeast; David Hart, sales man- ager central; Dennis Winberry, sales manager northeast; Luis De la Mora, sales manager international. Pressey will now be the contact in sales for Bosch/Hansella, Makat and Togum. He has been with Bosch for 20 years, transferring to the packaging division 9 years ago. Within the packaging division Pressey has held the positions of customer service repre- sentative for the confectionery business segment, project manager for confectionery and product manager for con- fectionery. He spent 18 months at Bosch’s Viersen facil- ity (the company’s confectionery headquarters) for product training of processing equipment. Steve Pressey New book for artisan confectioners Chocolates and Confections, written by Peter P. Greweling and The Culinary Institute of America, will be published by John Wiley & Sons and available in January 2007. This book will feature formulas, theories and techniques for the artisan confectioner. Presented in full color, the book includes 140 formu- las and variations including dairy-based center, crys- talline and noncrystalline sugar confectionery, jellies, nut center and aerated confections. Also included in the book are confectionery packag- ing and storage tips, an explanation of confectionery ingredients and a glossary.
