Yoga Break for Nurses: A Wellness Pilot Project Margie Gale, MSN, RN, CEAP & Laura Osterman, MA, RYT Vanderbilt Nurse Wellness Program of Work Life Connections-EAP and Health Plus Yoga Project Method Delivery Health Plus and WLC-EAP Nurse Wellness partner to offer Nurse Wellness Unit visits. Visits may include yoga, food demo and Know Your Numbers. Participants receive a yoga card with instruction for how to do poses learned in demo. Nurse Wellness Liaison coordinates flow of participants with Charge Nurse for individuals/small groups to come through to participate in seven minute yoga session.. Over eighteen months 2014-15 Recommendations Conduct five question REDCap survey Resource Wellcast: Ease Your Spirit, Mind, and Body with Yoga Kimberly Tromatore of Health Plus, recently spoke to Lori Cowan, Group Fitness Coordinator at Health Plus, about what yoga is, different types of yoga and how beneficial practicing yoga can be to relieve stress, reduce fatigue, and increase range of motion. Background Vanderbilt University Medical Center Nurse Managers asked for outreach support from their Nurse Wellness Program in March 2014 for their staff. Nurses on Units, Clinics and Procedure areas expressed interest in on site wellness support that would fit in with their tight work schedules and current staffing challenges.
