YOGA HOME STUDIO- FURNITURE DESIGN

CONCEPT

We have designed the furniture

for a yoga professional teacher

for her home yoga studio.

The furniture design facilitates

the user to use it for professional

as well as personal purposes.

The yoga home studio is of an

Indian yoga professional, Maya.

The space can accommodate 6

students at once .

The theme for the studio is

modern with a touch of

traditional Indian materials.

PLAN

The plan shows the

comfortable positioning of

all the furniture in the living

room.

When there are no yoga

classes she can move the

furniture to make it more

casual such as placing the

table on the side and using

the stools as seating units.

She can also fit in other

seating units such as couches

and coffee table in the space.

DESIGN The inspiration for the design of the seating

(stool) is a traditional Indian earthen pot.

The stools are made of teak wood .

The table is made of teak wood and the storage

unit is made of plywood with willow baskets .

The storage unit has simple aluminum rails for the

willow baskets acting as individual storage spaces

inside it.

The woven baskets are used for storing personal

belongings of the students during the class.

The reception table is

made out of teak wood .

The side of the reception

table is to be used to

remove shoes and keep.

The back view is where

the receptionist will sit and

that side of the table has

the cash desk.

The dimensions of the

table are 100cmx 60cm. Its

65 cm high.

The stool is inspired by the earthen pot.

It is made of teak wood and has a foam cushion

to sit.

The dimensions of the stool are 45cm high and

the seat is 30cms wide.

It has a solid wood structure so that it is stable

and heavy.

The storage unit has two side

doors which can be used to

keep long yoga mats and the

baskets are to be used by

individual students to store

their belongings before the

class.

The baskets are supported by

the rails and can be easily

stored and removed.

The dimensions of the storage

unit are 120cm x 60 cm x

175cm.
