4. YOKO CONFIGURATION ON MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR (MFS) AND PREPAR 3D
The user has two options in order to set the YOKO with MFS-PREPAR
3D:
• Through the MFS-PREPAR 3D menu (4.1): This is the common proce-
dure in order to set any control device or joystick.
• Through the “Virtual Fly - YOKO” driver (4.2): “Virtual Fly – YOKO”
is a Windows application that makes a link between YOKO and MFS-
PREPAR 3D. This program is an alternative of the YOKO settings used
in MFS-PREPAR 3D, which provides a greater sensitivity in roll and
pitch axis due to the longer displacement which the YOKO has, lea-
ding a more realism.
4.1 THROUGH THE MFS-PREPAR 3D MENU
• From the main MFS-PREPAR 3D splash screen, choose the “Settings”
option.
• Click on the “Controls” button.
• Check that “Enable controller(s)” option is activated.
Axes assignment
• On the “settings – controls screen” click on the “Control Axes” tab.
• On the drop down list “Controller type”, select “VirtualFly”( or alternatively,
“BU0836A”).
• In the “Assignment list” scroll down until you find the “Ailerons Axis”.
Double click on the “Ailerons Axis” to open the “Change Assignment
window”. Turn the YOKO left and right, “X Axis” should appear.
• Go Back in the “Assignment list” and scroll down until you find
“Elevator Axis”. Double click on the “Ailerons Axis to open the “Change
Assignment window”. Move the YOKO forward and backward, “Y Axis”
should appear.

tive controls and to the right for more sensitive controls.

ller null zone and to the right for larger null zone.
Finally click on “OK” to exit and close Microsoft Flight Simulator to
ensure that changes will be saved. Now you can start MFS to check

4.2 THROUGH THE “VIRTUAL FLY - YOKO” DRIVER
Requirements
• FSUIPC module for MFS or PREPAR 3D.
FSUIPC Installation
In case you already have FSUIPC installed in your MFS/PREPAR 3D you
can skip this step.
• Go to the “FSUIPC” folder from the memory stick provided with YOKO.
• Execute the setup program according your MFS version (FSX-PREPAR
3D or FS2004).
• When the installer ask about registering, Click on “Not now”.
“Virtual Fly – Yoko” Driver Installation
• Go to the “Virtual Fly – YOKO” folder from the memory stick provided
with YOKO.
• Execute the “setup.exe” file. (In case the installation program asks about
update libraries, click on “OK”).
• Once the “Virtual Fly - YOKO” program has been installed, you will find
the program in “Start -> Programs -> Virtual Fly -> Virtual Fly – YOKO”.

“Joystick x 2 Axes 32 Buttons”. If there is more than one device with the
same characteristics, choose which responds to movement of YOKO.

red cross is not centred with the YOKO in neutral position or when mo-
ving the Yoko to the left or to the right the red cross doesn’t reach the
box edges, it means that the YOKO is not calibrated properly. To solve
this problem go to the: “3.Windows Calibration”.
• Check all the buttons and switches by pressing them.
• Adjust the sensitivity of “Ailerons and Elevator” by the sliders. Move the
sensitivity sliders to the left for less sensitive controls and to the right for
more sensitive controls.
• All the settings are saved automatically, you can close the program, start
again and changes will remain.
