WHAT IS YOPAC?
Youth Outreach for the Performing Arts Center, or YOPAC, is a unique program that brings rich and diverse
performing arts experiences to every student on the Central Coast. The mission of YOPAC is to provide invaluable
opportunities for local students to participate as audience members, performers, and investigators of the
performing arts.
A BRIEF HISTORYYOPAC has been operating within the Performing Arts Center since the facility’s inception in September of 1996,
nd prior to that under the auspices of the Foundation for the Performing Arts Center. Initially, YOPAC focused odeveloping what are now its two largest programs: School Matinee Performances and Young Artists Onstage.
Within the rst few years, these programs experienced such success within San Luis Obispo, they were expanded
erve the entire San Luis Obispo County and parts of Santa Barbara County.
