•Established in 1980 (32 years)

•Our role in the community is to maintain quality service and facilities tailored to seniors who qualify for independent living or supportive housing.

• In collaboration with the Dept. Of Social Development, York Developments looked outside the box and developed the first affordable supportive housing facility in New Brunswick

• July 2007 officially opened 19 units

Hawkins Hawkins HouseHouse• Unlike supportive housing projects in for-

profit situations, this project is unique in that:

▫ our agreement with the Province is under the Rent Supplement Program which provides housing to only those whose total income is below the threshold of $24,500

▫ Rent is calculated at 30% of income and the tenant pays a service fee to cover meals, laundry & housekeeping (average cost for tenants is $900. per month)

•Service fees include:•2 meals per day• (lunch & supper)

•Laundry•Housekeeping•24 hour emergency response

•Tenants can also receive personal care through the NB Home Care Program.

• York Manor is a licensed home care service provider for the Province

• All Staff are York Care Centre employees and must possess a Homecare Support Worker Certificate and be CPR certified

• On site staff (8:00 am to 10:00 pm daily)

• York Care Centre staff respond to emergency calls after 10:00 pm until 8:00 am
