SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE with KATHLEEN CONOVER , AWS, NWS Mar. 06-12, 2016 WC with FRANK WEBB, AWS, NWS Mar. 13-19, 2016 WC $1695 painters / $1495 non-painters (each workshop) $550 day student price for those who actually live in SMA

GREAT fun in San Miguel! There are usually art openings, plays or other cultural events going on when we’re there. Music is EVERYWHERE. You’ve heard of it, you’ve wanted to go, NOW is the time. The hotel has a lovely, large heated pool. The weather is perfect at this time of year, cool, and spring-like, with many flowering trees in bloom. The cobblestone streets with a few indigenous people in native garb will be most interesting. Conover:This is a painters' workshop and

studio experience for those ready to move past the ordinary. Spend time both in and out of the studio. Webb:This is a design workshop for painters, with lots of unusual local subject matter to choose from.

There are usually straight flights into Leon, Guanajuato and then you would take a shared shuttle into San Miguel. There are several shuttles to choose from and we give you their information so you can book a reservation.

Included: Tuition, 6 nights lodging (double occupancy), all breakfasts, 3 dinners, tips and taxes.

Not Included: Transportation to/from Leon, meals not mentioned above, alcoholic beverages, some shared taxis, insurance on person and baggage.

Lucca and the Cinque Terre with BETTY CARR WATERCOLOR JUNE 6-16, 2016 $3495 Painters / $3295 Non Painters

Fly into Florence and we will bring you to Santa Margherita Ligure, the gateway to the Cinque Terre on the western shore of the Ligurian Sea. There are five little villages, built into the rocks between the beach and the terraced hills. Because there is so much to see, we’ll spend 5 nights there, staying in a lovely, centrally located hotel. Besides the Cinque Terre towns, we also will go to Portofino to paint for an afternoon. Then on to Lucca, the most graceful of Tuscany’s provincial capitals. Lucca is an ancient town with a unique center completely enclosed by monumental 15th century walls. People love to walk or bicycle on the wide, peaceful wall shaded by plane or chestnut trees. From here you can look down into the town’s fine buildings and graceful gardens. What an excellent vantage point for painting and photography!

Included: Tuition, 10 nights lodging (double occupancy), all breakfasts, 5 dinners, transportation within the area , tips and taxes.

Not included: Transportation to/from Florence, meals not mentioned above, alcoholic beverages, insurance on person or baggage.

IRELAND with MEL STABIN AWS, NWS $3495 painters / $3295 non-painters JULY 1-11, 2016 WATERCOLOR

Get ready to PAINT GREEN! Western Ireland is a place of rugged beauty, wonderfully warm people and more green than you ever believed possible. We'll be staying in a superb hotel in Enistymon, a colorful town with a great cemetery that overlooks the town. North Clare is one of Ireland's best kept secrets and Ennistymon is a handy base from which to explore. In this area you will discover the dramatic cliffs of Moher, which rise vertically 700 feet out of the sea in a serpentine five-mile wall. We’ll take local transport to the harbor and a ferry across to the nearby Aran Island of Innishmor which is like stepping back into another century. The small island is a delightful pattern of stone walls and tiny green fields topped by the ruins of one of Ireland’s ubiquitous castles and Gaelic is spoken by

the locals.

Included: Tuition, lodging(dbl. occ.), all breakfasts, 5 dinners, transportation within

Ireland, tips and taxes Not included: Transportation to/from Shannon,

meals not mentioned above, alcoholic beverages, insurance on person or baggage

BALI, Indonesia August 8-22, 2016 with Cris Weatherby WATERCOLOR JOURNAL 3495 painters $3295 non-painters

Join us for a very exotic workshop experience. We are so excited to get back to two of our favorite destinations in Bali. There is SO much to see and do there! Learn about and observe a new culture, new foods, interesting traditions, native d a n c e s , m u s e u m s , a n d s p e c i a l ceremonies. Tucked into the forest, the bungalows in our hotel in Ubud have a picture book quality that only time can build. If you’re in luck, you can sit on your balcony and see a procession on the ridge

across the gorge. We spend most of our time in the artists’ colony in the mountainous, rice terraced area of Ubud, then we head over to the coast of Candi Dasa to relax, swim in the Indian ocean or the lovely pool at our hotel. You can have a massage on the beach, and there are great shopping possibilities for clothing, jewelry and wooden carvings. Included: tuition, room dbl. occ. (singles available), all breakfasts, 6 dinners, museum entrance fees, native dances, taxi to Ubud hotel and back to the airport at the end of the trip.

Not included: transportation to and from Bali (most airlines will allow you to spend the night in a stop half way there and the same on the way back), meals not mentioned above, alcoholic beverages, taxi to airport, trip insurance on person or bags

AMALFI COAST, ITALY with DON ANDREWS, AWS WATERCOLOR SEPTEMBER 11-21, 2016 $3495 painters $3295 non-painters

Arrive on Sept. 11 in Naples, at any hour you wish. On Sept.12 we will be picked up and taken to Ravello on a high bluff above the coastal town of Amalfi. Ravello is a wonderful location for painters. You’ll get all the lovely components of architecture, flora and fauna that you’ll want to paint without the hordes of tourists. The famous Amalfi coast views are spectacular from our terrace. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent. There is a pool, but the weather is so temperate, and perhaps on the cool side, that you may not need to use it to cool off. Perfect painting weather. While there, we will go down to Amalfi and also take a ferry to Positano for sketching, shopping and sight-seeing. Most of the time we’ll stay in Ravello because there is so much to paint and we have a covered outdoor studio to use when we want it. There could be a concert or two at night that you might want to attend in Ravello.

On the way back to Naples, we will stop for a guided tour of Pompeii. The last night is in Naples, so you may plan your return flight at any hour on Sept. 21st.

Included: tuition, room(double occupancy), all breakfasts, 5 dinners, transportation within Italy Not Included: transportation to/from Naples, meals not mentioned above, alcoholic
