BY 1879, Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce people in NorthAmerica was so disappointed with government au-thorities that he said: “I am tired of talk that comes tonothing. It makes my heart sick when I remember allthe good words and all the broken promises.”

Many of the Native people in North America feel theneed for help from someone trustworthy. For example,Lone Man of the Teton Sioux said: “I have seen that inany great undertaking it is not enough for a man to de-pend simply upon himself.”

Is there anyone dependable who can bring aboutjustice for all people? Yes! We can trust the Creator.

THE ONE WHO KEEPS HIS WORDThe Creator has spoken to mankind, and his words

are written in a book. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17) In thisbook, the Bible, he has promised to make allthings new. (2 Peter 3:13) The One above never for-gets his promises. He said about his people: “Can

a wife forget her suckling so that she should notpity the son of her belly? Even these women canforget, yet I myself shall not forget you.” (Isaiah49:15) Chief Joseph said: “We were taught to be-lieve that the Great Spirit sees and hears every-thing, and that he never forgets.”

The great Spirit has given himself a namethat inspires confidence. He is “Jeho-

vah, the Creator of the extremi-ties of the earth.” (Isaiah 40:

28) The name Jehovah means“He Causes to Become.” Hehas that name because hebecomes whatever is neces-sary to fulfill his promises. What qualities of Jehovahmake him trustworthy?

WHY TRUST THE CREATOR?Love: The land is an ex-

pression of the Creator’slove for mankind. Geronimo,an Apache chief, comment-ed: “I was warmed by thesun, rocked by the winds andsheltered by the trees as oth-er Indian babes. . . . I can goeverywhere with a good feel-ing.” The Creator will keephis promises because heloves the people of every tribeand nation. The Bible says:“Jehovah is good; his loving-kindness is to time indef-inite, and his faithfulness togeneration after generation.”—Psalm 100:5.Wisdom: Many human

leaders want to help those inneed, but they lack the wis-dom to do so. In contrast,Jehovah wisely provides forevery living thing. (Psalm145:16) Standing Bear, achief of the Dakotas, said:“The hand that fashioned thecontinent also fashioned theman for his surroundings.”The Bible says: “How manyyour works are, O Jehovah! All of them in wisdom youhave made. The earth is fullof your productions.” (Psalm104:24) The Creator’s wis-dom assures us that he cando what he promises.Justice: Chief Joseph said:

“All men were made by thesame Great Spirit.” Sure-ly, then, the great Spirit willsee that justice is done for

all peoples. Of him, the Bi-ble says: “All his ways are jus-tice.” (Deuteronomy 32:4) Inaddition, the Creator “is notpartial, but in every nationthe man that fears him andworks righteousness is ac-ceptable to him.” (Acts 10:34, 35) The Creator’s justicegives us confidence that hewill keep his word.Power: Some human lead-

ers have good intentions butlack sufficient power to helppeople. The Creator has nosuch limitation. Of the stars,he says: “Raise your eyeshigh up and see. Who hascreated these things? It is theOne who is bringing forth thearmy of them even by num-ber, all of whom he calls evenby name. Due to the abun-dance of dynamic energy, healso being vigorous in power, not one of them is missing.”(Isaiah 40:25, 26) The Cre-

“How many yourworks are, O Jehovah! All of them in wisdom

you have made.”—PSALM 104:24

ator’s power guarantees that he can dowhat he says.

The Creator’s qualities inspire confi-dence in his promises. Ancient King Sol-omon said: “There has not failed oneword of all his good promise that he haspromised.”—1 Kings 8:56.

WHAT HAS THE CREATOR PROMISED?Jehovah, the Creator, has provided

his Son, Jesus, as Ruler to bring aboutjustice for all mankind. Jehovah says:“Look! My servant, on whom I keep fasthold! My chosen one, whom my soul hasapproved! I have put my spirit in him.Justice to the nations is what he willbring forth.” (Isaiah 42:1) Jehovah’s ap-pointed King will provide help even for

oppressed people. We read concerningJesus: “Let him save the sons of the poorone, and let him crush the defrauder. . . .He will deliver the poor one crying forhelp, also the afflicted one and whoeverhas no helper.”—Psalm 72:4, 12.

The Creator originally designed theearth to be a paradise of peace. Soonhe will bring his purpose to completion. The Bible says: “He will wipe out everytear from their eyes, and death will beno more, neither will mourning nor out-cry nor pain be anymore. The formerthings have passed away.” Can you trustthe Creator’s promise? He states: “Thesewords are faithful and true.”—Revelation21:4, 5.

TRUST THE CREATOR’S WISDOMJehovah says: “If only you would ac-

tually pay attention to my command-ments! Then your peace would becomejust like a river, and your righteousnesslike the waves of the sea.” (Isaiah 48:18)From the Creator, you can learn the bestway of life. If you study the Bible, you

will learn about the real purpose of life, how to get along with others, and how tofind happiness.—Micah 6:8; Luke 6:27-31; 11:28.

The Creator tells the truth aboutquestions that no one else can answer, such as: Why do good people sometimessuffer? What happens when we die?And will the dead live again?

Jeho-vah’s Witnesses will be happy to showyou what the Bible really teaches. “Trustin Jehovah and do good . . .
