ADMISSION REQUIREMENTSApplication Process
Take the first step and join the University of Northern Iowa family. To apply to UNI, you will need to do the following:
1. Go to intladm.uni.edu and fill out the application for admission.
• Common Application also accepted for undergraduates
2. Pay $50 (undergraduate) or $75 (graduate) application fee.
3. Submit educational transcripts.
4. All applicants who are not native speakers of English must submit one proof of English proficiency.
• TOEFL—(Internet based) 79
• IELTS—6.0 for undergraduate and 6.5 graduate students
• 480 on SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW)
• Conditional admission may be considered for undergraduate students. You will be tested upon arrival to campus and will be required to enroll in intensive English courses as necessary.
Some graduate programs require higher TOEFL or IELTS scores than those mentioned above, other test scores, and supporting documents depending on the major for which you are applying. Check your specific program online at intladm.uni.edu/graduate/majors.

GRADUATE MAJORS
CIEP - CULTURE AND INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAMCIEP will prepare you for academic studies at UNI. With experienced instructors teaching small classes, you will receive the assistance you need to achieve your big dreams.
Each session provides 20 classroom hours per week of English language study and cultural orientation. You can also receive assistance with laboratory work, out-of-classroom activities and special events. Courses include:
