START TIME: Sunday – August 22, 2010 1st Race – 11:00am - 2nd Race – 1:00pm AIRCRAFT REGISTRATION: It is an FAA requirement that all aircraft flying the race course must

contact the SBIP office at 305-296-6166 to obtain the proper forms or download them from the web. You will need to provide the aircraft registrations numbers and certificate of insurance listing SBIP as additional insured. This information needs to be received ten (10) days prior to the event, to fly the race.

PRIVATE MEDICAL

HELICOPTER: All race teams that plan to have a Medical person (s) must supply the name (s) to the SBIP main office 10 days prior to the event. The medical person, diver or other people that will be flying for the team will also need to sign the insurance waiver and must have a 2010 SBIP Racing membership prior to the event. This can be done at registration. If a team has a medical person, diver, or other people that are flying illegally for the team during the event it will result in DISQUALIFICATION for the team at that event. We need to be aware of any helicopters flying the event, and who is in them, for security. At some of the races, helicopters might not be able to fly, and we will have to cover the race from the water.

START PROCEDURES: As per rule book. RACE COURSE GENERAL: Stake and/or Check boats will be marks of the course. All Official

check boats are to verify passage of the race boats passed fixed marks. All Official check boats will be flying Bright Orange flags and / or Sponsor flags. It is the responsibility of the Race Driver to

DRIVERS INFORMATION pass all marks of the course on the designated side. To be scored, all race boats shall negotiate the check points at a distance not greater than 100 yards or less than 50 feet from the check point boat.

RADIO PROCEDURES: It is mandatory to report “OUT OF RACE” to Race Control as

soon as possible, by calling on VHF Channel 78A. Failure to do so shall result in a $250.00 fine, for the first offense, and a one (1) minute penalty thereafter.

JACKETS & HELMETS: Helmets and Jackets are mandatory for all Riding crew at all times

while on plane. Violators are subject to disqualification or a $250 fine. NOTE: Owners of Equipment owners are responsible for the actions of their crew.

PHYSICALS: Race day morning, 7:30 am to 8:30 am –See schedule for location.

TESTING: Race boats must have a pre-race technical and safety inspection,

and the boat and all riding crew members must complete all registration requirements prior to any on water testing. The owner and all riding crew members must sign the Mandatory Insurance waiver and entry form prior to any water testing. Anyone testing without signing the waiver shall be subject to disqualification, fine and / or suspension of not less than 30 days. All race teams must test during the approved testing times and locations as provided in registration. All race teams must check in with Race Control and the safety boat in the test area prior to entering the area that is approved for testing. All Race teams must call Race Control when finished testing, prior to leaving the test area. All Race Teams must check in with Race Control once back at the ramp or crane area when testing is completed. Any violation of the testing Rules, the team will be fined a minimum of $250.00 per occurrence and may be subject to disqualification or suspension.

SAFE CONDUCT: While you are testing Rules of the road apply to all race boats at all

times. Observe all posted speed limits. You must operate your boat in a courteous manner at all times.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

1. RACE REGISTRATION A. Race Registration will be located in the Race Village on Dave Nisbet Dr. and is opened

starting on Friday, August 20th, 2010 from 9:00am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday, August 21st from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

B. It is MANDATORY that all riding crew and crew members participating in the event must

check-in at registration and sign the entry form, medical and insurance waiver PRIOR TO LAUNCHING, TESTING OR RACING THEIR BOAT. Failure to do so will result in DISQUALIFICATION. (See SBIP Rule Book for infractions). Registration must be completed by 5:00 pm on SATURDAY, August 21st, 2010.

C. Racers must be a 2010 Racing member and the Equipment registered with SBIP, OSS,

or OPA for 2010. Crew must have a 2010 Crew Membership with SBIP, OSS, or OPA. See Registration for memberships at posted times.

D. Teams Racing for National Points for SBIP, must be 2010 members of SBIP.

E. Any race team that has a person in the race boat during the race event (August 20-22,

2010) that is not a 2010 Racing Member, and have not signed the entry form, a medical information sheet and the insurance waiver will be DISQUALIFIED.

F. All Racing members need to read the Medical and Safety requirements in the SBIP

Following the race – Points will be awarded to teams according to the Organization they are a member of.

6. BONUS POINTS FOR PAPERWORK:

This season SBI is awarding bonus points at each race site to the teams that follow the items below. There is not a set number of points, every race will have a different number that will be announced at the Sunday morning drivers meeting.

Pay out will be based on the number of boats starting the Race in their class. Five (5) boats starting in a class will receive the prize money as posted for that class, less than five boats will be as follows:

Four (4) boats in a class will receive prize money from 2nd place to 5th place Three (3) boats in a class will receive prize money from 3rd place to 5th place Two (2) boats in a class will receive prize money from 4th place to 5th place One (1) boat in a class will receive prize money for 5th place

Any Class with eight (8) or more Boats starting (crossing the start line) will receive an extra $1,000.00 (40%-25%-20%-10%-5%) added to the Prize Purse for that Class. (Example) A Class with $7,000.00 listed prize purse and they have eight (8) Boats in their Class, the Prize Purse for that Class will be increased to $8,000.00. Manufacturer Production classes are excluded from the contingency fund amount. Manufacturer Production Classes: Pay out will be based on the number of boats starting the Race in their class:

Three (3) boats in a class will receive prize money for 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place Two (2) boats in a class will receive prize money for 2nd place and 3rd place One (1) boat in a class will receive prize money for 3rd place

DRY PIT & WET PIT REQUIREMENTS: 1. All race boats must be parked in the SBIP designated Dry Pits on Nisbet Dr. during daylight hours

(8am to 7pm), starting on Friday, August 20, 2010 until after the race on Sunday, August 22, 2010.

OUTSTANDING DEBTS:

2. Any boat that receives Prize Money and has an outstanding debt with SBIP the debt will be taken out of the prize money that is due them.

DRESS CODE AND PATCHES:

3. RACING/CASUAL UNIFORM: Should consist of a golf shirt, shorts, or long pants. This will be worn

by all team members during the day time of the event. 4. DRESS UNIFORM: Should consist of a dress shirt, racing jacket, and dress pants. This uniform will

be worn at all cocktail parties.

5. SERIES SPONSOR PATCH LOGO: Will go over the right breast, 2״ below right shoulder seam, on all uniforms of SBIP members.

6. SUPER BOAT INTERNATIONAL PATCH LOGO: Will go on left breast, 8״ below left shoulder

seam on all uniforms of SBIP members.

DECALS:

7. EVENT SPONSOR DECAL: Must be by Driver’s seat area of cockpit, outside, on both sides of boat. (See SBIP Rule Book for diagram)

8. SUPER BOAT INTERNATIONAL DECAL: Must be on Driver’s seat area of cockpit, outside and

on both sides of boat (see SBIP Rule Book for diagram).

BANNERS & FLAGS

9. All Banners & Flags must be approved by the SBIP Director, before they are placed in any Pit areas – Wet, Dry, or Hot. Unauthorized placement will be removed on the first offense and a one (1) minute penalty to the team thereafter.

MERCHANDISE SALES:

10. Any team that wants to sell their T-Shirts or other merchandise at the Race site must have a license

agreement from the SBIP office. Contact main office for Agreement, at 305-296-6166, 30 days prior to event.
