Co – workers, As most are aware, last week we were surveyed by Department of Health and Senior Services under deemed authority of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).

The Surveyors that visited OMC after the fire were satisfied with OMC’s immediate response to the event. They found zero citations upon reviewing the conditions of participation (COPs) in Nursing and Life Safety. We await a final report that should arrive in a few weeks.

Positives that the surveyors noted:• Immediate response of staff • Patients able to speak to education about the event• Staff able to speak to education about event• Continue the good work, tracking actions on plan of correction

Opportunities for improvement the surveyors noted:• Hand Hygiene and Glove Use • Patient documentation per policy and procedure, especially with regard to blood administration

Much appreciation to all who directly participated in the survey and to everyone for assuring OMC meets regulatory re-quirements!

Kurt Abbey, RN, BSN, MHA, Chief Nursing Officer

The OMC Thayer Medical Clinic has been a part of the OMC system of care since 1991. Nurse Practitioner, Glennette Haney has been with OMC for over 30 years, and has been the driving force of the clinic. “Doing things right the first time, each time, and ev-ery time is Glennette’s mantra,” says Wanda Roark, Clinic Supervisor.

It’s evident that the coworkers at the Thayer Clinic are a very close family. Linda, Treda and Wanda have a combined 64 years of ser-vice at the clinic. Wanda refers to the three LPNs Treda, Linda and Cindy as the TLC. And praises Stacie for making a hard job easy. “She can rock a front desk.”

The Thayer Medical Clinic saw 6,820 patients in 2015. They offer family medicine, physicals, workers’ compensation, basic lab and X-ray, drug screens, and are a Missouri State University provider.

Thank You Received via Facebook:I am in the hospital on the cardiac stepdown wing. I never do reviews, but my nurse absolutely, with out a doubt, needs to be mentioned. Her name is Janet, she is one of the most caring and best nurses I have ever had. She is

professional yet shows that she is 100% concerned about your health and compassionate about giving you the best care. Just such a friendly person, as they are very busy tonight, she has stayed on top of taking care of me. I feel blessed to have her as my nurse.
