You should be writing your advanced argument essay now. Take your time and do

a good job. Before you submit your essay for peer review, take some time to revise

and edit it.

Did you write about a controversial and academic topic?

Did you use a couple of Internet sources to help support your ideas?

Did you cite your sources by putting the author's last name at the end of the

sentence?

Did you use more than 3 body paragraphs?

If you did all of those things, then check your essay for these other things you've learned

about good writing:

use a thesis statement with a topic and controlling idea

use topic sentences to start each body paragraph

use correct verb tenses

give unity to paragraphs and the essay--all sentences in paragraphs relate to

topic sentence and all paragraphs relate to thesis

give coherence to the paragraphs and essay--use transitions and keywords

use commas correctly

use good sentence variety

use parallel structure
