Senior Adult Ministry Dear Young at Heart, I love and miss you all so much. I feel like we have had to say goodbye for a long time, but our absence has truly made our hearts grow fonder. I now understand better how Jesus’ friends felt when He had to say goodbye for a while and go back to His heavenly home. We sure do look for- ward to that day when we can sit down and have supper with Jesus and all of our dear friends in heaven. But, now we look forward to the days when we can be face-to-face, worshiping, laughing, loving one another and inviting others into our family. Speaking about inviting oth- ers, I recently heard from Teresa Holliday that her senior aunt invited 10 of her friends to watch The Encouraging Word broadcast, one of the greatest outlets of the Gospel in the world today. Guess what? Every one of them tuned into the broadcast and were so encouraged and uplifted! You might even think of making a list of a few friends that you would like to invite to tune in also! Well, this challenging season seems to be gradually coming to an end but we will never be the same again because of it. We now understand, like many of our parents who endured such as this and even greater hardships, that our hope will always be Jesus. Man may be the cause of dire circumstances, but the cause of great healing will always be our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! We have been given the responsibility to pass this testimony onto everyone. This time will certainly turn to the good of those who love Christ (Romans 8:28). By the way, if you’re not sure you belong to Jesus, contact me or anyone on our team and we will be there for you. So, as the Lord continues to bring us toward healing and fellowship, let’s remind each other to: 1. Live assured - Jesus loves you and is with you. 2. Stay faithful - Live for Christ, because he died for you. 3. Pray constantly - Be a “prayer”, don’t just say a prayer. 4. Share Jesus continually - We were born for this! 5. Celebrate Grace ecstatically - Live a worshipful lifestyle. 6. Love deeply - We were saved for this! Dear Young at Heart,

I love and miss you all so much. I feel like we have had to say goodbye for a long time, but our

absence has truly made our hearts grow fonder. I now understand better how Jesus’ friends felt

when He had to say goodbye for a while and go back to His heavenly home. We sure do look for-

ward to that day when we can sit down and have supper with Jesus and all of our dear friends

in heaven. But, now we look forward to the days when we can be face-to-face, worshiping,

laughing, loving one another and inviting others into our family. Speaking about inviting oth-

ers, I recently heard from Teresa Holliday that her senior aunt invited 10 of her friends to

watch The Encouraging Word broadcast, one of the greatest outlets of the Gospel in the world

today. Guess what? Every one of them tuned into the broadcast and were so encouraged and

uplifted! You might even think of making a list of a few friends that you would like to invite to

tune in also!

Well, this challenging season seems to be gradually coming to an end but we will never be the

same again because of it. We now understand, like many of our parents who endured such as

this and even greater hardships, that our hope will always be Jesus. Man may be the cause of

dire circumstances, but the cause of great healing will always be our Lord and Savior, Jesus

Christ! We have been given the responsibility to pass this testimony onto everyone. This time

will certainly turn to the good of those who love Christ (Romans 8:28). By the way, if you’re not

sure you belong to Jesus, contact me or anyone on our team and we will be there for you.

So, as the Lord continues to bring us toward healing and fellowship, let’s remind each other to:

Message from the President… Johnny McCraw

Hello friends,

It seems like such a long time since we’ve seen and fellowshipped with one another, but it’s

actually been a short time. I’m confident that we will be together again very soon and expe-

rience the oneness in the bond of love that we have.

Are you feeling a little overwhelmed from the isolation and constant barrage of media nega-

tivity we face each day now? How do we avoid allowing this to stress us out? Remember

the Good News we have had, now have and will continue to have with each new day. Use all

this extra time on our hands to study God’s Word and receive His encouragement directly.

I recall a recent devotion from The Daily Encouraging Word entitled “Use the Power of

Praise”. “From the rising of the sun until the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to

be praised” (Ps 113:3). Basically, it says that we can praise God too little, but can never

praise Him too much. So, praise Him now more than ever and get the attention off our-

selves and the circumstances of the world around us and onto God’s miraculous power!

Praise solves problems. It brings us into His presence and positions us for His favor and

blessings.

Thank you all for continuing to pray for and encourage one another (and me) during the

current times. Pray especially for Dr. Wilton, Sal and our entire ministry team as they work

diligently to find new ways and means to minister to our whole church family and beyond.

Many thanks to all of you participating in our Care Caller Ministry. I am so blessed to be a

part of YAH and have friends such as you. I love you all so very much!

In Christ’s love,

Johnny

Sal’s Letter - Continued Dear friends, not only is God watching over you, but other generations are looking to you for

hope and courage. I know you won’t let them down. “We are in this together” is nothing

new for us. Yes, we will be planning special Senior events outdoors when weather per-

mits. Our visits to you may be in your driveway or on the other side of a senior community

window. Our Young at Heart meetings will be more “Drop in and stay a while” times. We

will build teams that will call you or come to your residence and teach you how to easily use

your phone or computer to worship and fellowship with friends. Most of all, we will walk

together with the One who never changes and who’s love for us will never change. He is the

All Together Lovely , the Ancient of Days, the Lord of Creation and Salvation, Jesus. It is He

who has given us His life, His family the church, servant leaders like our Pastor and the

privilege to be called the Young at Heart!

P.S. Call soon, 864-583-7245, to update your contact information. Many have done that and

they’re so glad that they did! Also check out our website at www.fbs.org and or new Senor
