  • Entrepreneurship & Creativity gives a general view on entrepre-neurship, potential drawbacks and pitfalls. It includes guidelines on how to identify significant business risks and how to develop mitigation strategies. The second part of the chapter is devoted to creativity and how a company can create a culture of innovation.

Principles of Management provides guidance on how to develop a business vision, mission and core values. The PESTEL analysis - a tool to investigate political, economic, social, and technological factors - is introduced along with Michael Porter's Five Competi-tive Forces model - a framework to analyze the level of competi-tion within an industry.

Microeconomics analyses different market structures and the in-teraction of demand and supply.

Operational Management covers areas such as business location and layout, capacity planning, purchasing, logistics and distribu-tion management.

Sales & Marketing Management defines the relationship between selling and marketing. It explores the pivotal role sales plays in the success of a business and covers different stages of the selling process. The core elements of a good marketing mix are explored along with general principles for conducting solid market research.

Financial Management & Control introduces good recordkeeping practices for a small business, provides guidance to interpret fi-nancial statements and perform ratio analyses. Participants also learn about cost classification standards and pricing strategies.

Human Resource Management covers the topics of staff recruit-ment and selection, points out equal opportunity policies and ben-efits of a diverse workforce. Topics such as staff motivation, learn-ing and performance management are also included in this chapter.

Business Ethics & Corporate Social Responsibility defines the fun-damental principles of ethical behavior and corporate citizenship. Furthermore, it introduces the concept of corporate social respon-sibility, highlights environmental and social impacts associated with business activities and discusses ways to embed sustainabil-ity into business operations.

Women Entrepreneurship reveals particular qualities of women entrepreneurs, additional challenges they face and how to ad-dress them, as well as available organisations in Myanmar where young female entrepreneurs can turn to get support.

*The participants have to learn the lessons through Case Study Analysis and Business Plan Preparation and Presentation.*
