Blessing of the Animals

On Friday, October 4, there will be First Friday Mass and bless-ing of the animals at 6:30pm. This Mass will be outdoors. Please bring your lawn chairs. There will be no Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in the church, due to Friday being a preparation day for the Jamaica. While the church will be closed after the 6:30pm Mass, the Per-petual Adoration Chapel will remain open October 4 & 5.

Earlier this year, Pope Francis designated the last Sunday of September (Sept. 29) to be the day when the Church celebrates the World Day of Migrants and Refugees. The Church has been celebrating the World Day of Migrants and Refugees since 1914. It is always an occasion to express concern for many different vulnerable people on the move; to pray for the challenges and increase awareness about the opportunities that migration offers. For 2019, Pope Francis has chosen the theme “It is not just about migrants” to show up in our blind-spots and make sure no one remains excluded from society, whether a long- time resident or someone newly-arrived.
