Ivy Tech Community College (ITCC)
Associate of General Studies to
Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU)
Bachelor of Science in General Studies (BSGS)
Ivy Tech students may transfer their ITCC and all prior credits from a regionally accredited college to
IWU as long as at least a “C” was earned and the course is not a remedial, pre-college or
developmental course.
IWU encourages you to take as many courses as possible during your time at ITCC. Many of the requirements above
will have already been satisfied in ITCC’s General Studies program. (For example by taking ENGL111, ENGL112, &
COMM101 you will have satisfied the Gen. Ed. Requirement for 9 credits in English & Speech.)
IWU will accept all transfer credits that meet the following requirements:
Courses were completed at a regionally accredited college or university
Courses were 100 level or higher (not remedial, pre-college or developmental, credits through testing or assessed learning)
A grade of “C” or better was earned
A minimum of 30 credit hours must be taken at IWU.
IWU has no expiration date on credits. If any of these have not been completed you may take them while taking BSGS
courses at IWU.
This is a general guide, not a final plan for every ITCC General Studies graduate. Student’s transcripts must
be reviewed before IWU can provide a final approval on what credits transfer.
120 credits are required to graduate with a BSGS from IWU. If additional credits beyond those above are required to achieve the 120 credits, they may come from any college-level course (at least 100-level or higher, not pre-college, remedial or developmental) taken at ITCC, IWU or any regionally-credited college where at least a “C” was earned.
For details of all requirements, refer to each institution’s Catalog.
Ivy Tech and Indiana Wesleyan University reserve the right to make changes to either the program or the courses identified in this Transfer Pathway Guide without prior notification.
