The world’s biggest rugby tournament – in the palm of your hand.
If you’re into rugby, the RBS 6 Nations Championship should need no introduction. As well as being one of the most riveting tournaments in the sporting calendar, it’s also an event where you’ll find us delivering digital innovation and expertise.
For several years now, we’ve been the Official Technology Partner of the Championship – demonstrating our digital credentials in a truly unique way.
Over the past three Championships, users from over 150 countries have downloaded
and updated the Accenture designed official Championship mobile app more than 2.6 million times.
And in 2014, thanks to Accenture Analytics experts processing more than 1.9 million rows of data during every match, fans were able to access unique, real-time insight such as player head-to-head statistics and match momentum trackers on the mobile app. Proof that when it comes to rugby, we’re always on the ball.

Biometrics Face Recognition

With growth in world air travel averaging five percent per year over the past 30 years, the airline industry can’t afford to fall behind when it comes to keeping customers safe and secure. Happily, that’s where we’ve been able to apply our deep technological expertise.
In fact, there’s every chance you’ve experienced our innovations first-hand – not least if you’ve travelled through Heathrow Terminals 1, 4 and 5, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol or Dublin Airport Terminal 1.
After all, the banks of automated e-Passport gates you’ll see there were introduced by Accenture. In Dublin Airport we worked with the Irish Naturalisation Immigration Service and An Garda Síochána to deliver a pilot for the first national self-service passport control system. The technology that underpins them – from fingerprint identification and iris scanning to facial recognition systems – was all built and implemented by Accenture Biometrics too. It’s another great example of how our work doesn’t just transcend borders; it keeps them secure, too.

Diversity Champion
Our Culture
Delivering innovation to clients depends on a huge variety of skills and talents. For that reason, inclusion and diversity are fundamental to our culture.
At the heart of our approach is finding the best people. We coach and support their stimulating careers and recognise their work and results. This helps us to tap into new ideas and creativity that benefit our people and their communities – and ultimately helps our clients achieve high performance.
Throughout Accenture Ireland you’ll see examples of the importance we place on diversity. For instance, we’re a corporate leader in supporting LGBT employees and the broader LGBT community – one of the first companies to be formally recognised as a GLEN (Gay & Lesbian Equality Network) Diversity Champion in Ireland.
We’re proud of our community and support network for women in Accenture. This focuses on developing and retaining our female employees and increasing the profile of our senior women in the marketplace.
We’ve a solid range of initiatives that are improving disability confidence across Accenture Ireland too. But this really is just the tip of the iceberg – as you’ll discover when you go online and learn more.

Acting responsibly is absolutely central to our success as a high-performance business.
From closing employment gaps to advancing client sustainability, we embrace opportunities to make a sustainable, measurable difference around the world.
Take Skills to Succeed for instance: this Accenture initiative takes one of our core competencies – training talent – and applies it to the communities we serve. It focuses on helping young people not in education, employment or training to build the skills they need to find a job or start a business. Our goal? To work with our
partners to equip more than three million people worldwide with skills by the end of fiscal 2020. It’s an ambitious target – but our people have the energy, enthusiasm and passion to make it happen.
Our people volunteer their time and energy in a way that matches their own passions and interests - through participation in programmes such as volunteering, mentoring and pro bono projects – and help us achieve real impact in the communities where we work and live.
