„MONETTE“ was created from the first let-ters of the two founders’ names - Willy Mock and Eduard Nettebeck and was es-tablished 1921 in Berlin. From the very beginning our inventions, some of which were patented, served as solutions to our customers problems, thus determining the direction our company was to follow.

In 1951, after the company’s headquarter in East Berlin were dispossessed, MONETTEwas relocated to Marburg, in the state of Hessen. We concentrated our efforts on the development and production of elec-tric cables, using the latest technological methods and insulation materials.

Step by step MONETTE entered the era ofplastics, placing emphasis on thermoplas-tics and elastomers.

Today we produce a wide range of com-mon wires and insulating materials in the temperature range from -190°C to +750°C.

Cables used in robots and drag chain systems are re-quired to be extremely resistant to alternate bending. Especially with the ever-increasing demands nowa-days in traverse lengths (up to 100 m), speed-up (up to 50 m/ s²), traverse speeds (up to 10 m/s) and bending radii (below 5 x D), it is important to match design and materials to each needs to guarantee a long life.

Either customized special cables, as well as common standards (Siemens, Indramat, Lenze, Fanuc, Heidenhain and so on) are part of our daily business. In our laboratory and our test department the cables undergo long term testing with at least 5 million bending cycles or under elevated conditions in the short-term method according to VDE 0472 part 603 test type H. A high standard of quality, as well as flexibility oriented to-wards our customers’ needs, characterise the wide spec-

trum of our performance and commitment.

The majority of our products are manufactured appli-cation-oriented. Nine out of ten customer’s requests demand individual development. Our R+D Department can be compared to a tailor’s shop: up until now, about 25.000 different products have been produced here -

varying in conductors and insulation materials, various cross sections and number of cores, lay of the conductors,

shielding and sheathing. As specialists, we are accustomed to producing solutions with short notice. Our special cables are

manufactured preferably according to the common German, Eu-ropean and international standards (like DIN, VDE, UL, CSA and so on). Alternatively we also manufacture cables according to customer’s specific standards as well as to our own factory specifications.

The various check points in our company such as chemistry lab, tech-nical department and test department investigate and control the aptitude of MONETTE cables from the development stage up to the final product. In addition, tests are conducted under special climatic, chemical and physical conditions.
