Your generosity powers our mission.
Empowering Individuals.
Supporting Families.
Strengthening Communities. 2019 Report to Our Donors
Formerly HCI Care Services & Visiting Nurse Services of Iowa
When Iowans face life’s most difficult moments, EveryStep offers support
and empowerment in the right place and at the right time. Our people and
programs provide support and education to young moms; assistance to
immigrants and refugees; wellness services to communities; in-home care
to people who are ill, injured or facing the end of life; and compassionate
support to families during times of grief and loss.
Contributions to EveryStep Foundation ensure that vulnerable Iowans
may receive that same support and empowerment, that we may care for an
entire family not just our patients, and that we may continue to develop new
innovations and expand our reach to serve more communities.
WHO WE ARE

Life is fragile. For any of us, a daunting challenge can surface in a heartbeat, creating a fearful path. Because you care, and you support EveryStep Foundation, we’re able to help these vulnerable Iowans live their best lives.
Whether EveryStep is imparting prenatal education to give baby the best start, guiding a grieving family on their healing journey or supporting individuals with one of our 30 other services between the beginning and the end of life, EveryStep is present.
Our organization’s visibility and value continue to expand through:
• A new name — EveryStep — to represent a brand that reflects the continuum of compassionate care and supportive services we offer.
• New initiatives like our palliative care pilot program for individuals whose quality of life is impacted by serious or chronic illness.
• Program and service growth that this year impact more than 65,000 Iowans in 47 counties.
You matter. Giving matters. Thank you for trusting and choosing EveryStep to do work that matters.
2
As one of Iowa’s largest and oldest community-based organizations
focused on health and human services, the EveryStep team will continue
to do the right thing for those we serve, enhancing their quality of life and
supporting individuals, families and communities.
With Des Moines as our headquarters and locations in eight other Iowa
communities, EveryStep is visible in nearly half the state. We step in to
offer much-needed services, often in low-income and underserved areas.
EveryStep’s early intervention and support lowers healthcare costs, improves
lives and makes aging “at home” possible for thousands without resources.
No patient or client is turned away because of inability to pay. That’s why
EveryStep Foundation works daily to raise funds for our organization’s
sustainability. Thank you for your generosity as we surround families with
programs and services to assist them at every step.
Every life is a gift. With you, we can empower individuals, support families
and strengthen communities.
