Multi-Sensory Story Boxes 0-19yrs
What Are They? Multi-sensory story boxes offer accessible stories for
those who cannot benefit from mainstream books. They are told inter-
actively, through actions and emotions, rather than words and pic-
tures. The story collection is aimed at parents/carers to use at home
with their children.
Who Are They For? These wonderful stories are suitable for children and young people with:
Severe learning difficulties
Profound and multiple learning difficulties
Language delay
Visual impairment (younger/mainstream)
Also those on the autistic spectrum
What’s Inside the Box? Each box contains:
A number of firm cardboard ‘pages’ with objects attached
Various loose objects related to the story
An A3 script with the story broken down into small chunks, each chunk relates to an object
An A4 sheet explaining how the stories can be used
Where and How Can I Get One?
There are currently 20 stories available on loan from Wiltshire
Libraries. Although they are stored at Devizes and Salisbury li-
braries, they can be reserved for FREE from your local library
using the normal book reservation system.

Inclusion funding for settings
Early Years Inclusion Support Funding is a financial contribution for early years settings towards the inclusion of children aged 0-5 who have a disability or difficulty that creates a barrier to their learning . The funding is needs led.
An Early Years Inclusion Officer and your setting will discuss any additional support required, in partnership with parents. The funding can be used by the setting for training, resources or support which is additional to or different from what is normally expected to be provided within your setting. It is neither the expectation nor intention that the additional funding will provide 1-1 continuous support.
