Most of the traditional hearing aids require batteries, and these typically come in many forms and sizes. They are sold wherever you buy your hearing accessories, but are also frequently found in most grocery stores, drug and pharmacy stores, and retail/ discount store chains. Depending on the type and size of battery, you might get anywhere from two to eight batteries in a package. Your hearing aid provider will show you the right kind of batteries to get. Your Hearing Aid Batteries

All hearing aids require some form of power

to keep them functioning and doing their job,

which is to help you hear. Most of the

traditional hearing aids require batteries, and

these typically come in many forms and

sizes. They are sold wherever you buy your

hearing accessories, but are also frequently found in most

grocery stores, drug and pharmacy stores, and retail/ discount

store chains.

Depending on the type and size of battery, you might get

anywhere from two to eight batteries in a package. Your hearing

aid provider will show you the right kind of batteries to get. Some

look like watch batteries, others like flattened disk batteries, and

others look like nothing more than a stick or needle.

Some of the major battery manufacturers like Energizer and

Duracell also make hearing aid batteries. The really nice thing

about these batteries are their cost, the fact that you can find a

coupon in any paper to reduce the cost, and they are packaged

such that you can pop one out at a time and they slip from the

package directly into your hearing devices without fumbling

around or needing an additional accessory that holds the battery

for you during installation.

Some hearing aids do not require batteries at all. These hearing

aids function through electronic or digital means that are

controlled remotely through another power source

Batteries for hearing devices have come a long way from the

front strap-on packs that were particularly cumbersome and

required regular replacement of much heavier and larger battery

sources!

If a loved one suffers from a condition that makes it difficult for

them to install something as small as a hearing aid battery,

consider talking to your audiologist about the other options for

hearing aid advice and products.
