Day 1- 10 May 19 Sydney – Kota Kinabalu. Depart Sydney on Malaysian Airlines at 1.05pm. Arrive Kuala Lumpur at 7.55pm.

Depart Kuala Lumpur on Malaysian Airlines at 9.00pm Arrive Kota Kinabalu at 11.30pm

Upon arrival into Kota Kinabalu you will be met and transferred to the hotel for a two night stay including breakfast.

Accommodation : Horizon Hotel, Superior City View, Kota Kinabalu, 2 nights

Day 2 – 11 May 19: SepanggarIsland - Spend today enjoying the sun, sea and sand on an offshore island. Transfer to the jetty for a 15-minute boat ride to Sepanggar Island for a day of relaxation. Participate in a guided snorkelling tour in crystal clear waters among coral reefs and rainbow-coloured fishes. Take a break and enjoy lunch. Thereafter, relax by sun bathing on the beach or go for a swim nearby before returning to Kota Kinabalu at 1500hrs.

Please bring: hat, insect repellent, swimwear and sun block lotion. Includes: mask, snorkel, life jacket and towel. (B,L)

Day 3 – 12 May 19: Kota Kinabalu –Kiulu Valley.Today you will be picked up from the hotel and transferred approximately 45 minutes to the countryside with a short stop at Tamparuli Suspension Bridge and the nearby local market, passing the scenic view of the Kiulu Valley, the valley of the mist. Upon arrival at Kg. Mantob, be greeted with a warm welcome by a host family and be briefed on the homestay programme. Enjoy a scrumptious lunch cooked and served by the host family, then it is time to immerse yourself into the local culture and traditions by participating in the demonstration of the local games and activities such as rice pounding and sieving, blow pipes, handcrafts making, traditional fishing, local games (Rampanau) and musical instruments with dance (gong and Sumazau). Proceed to take a village walk which offers stunning views of the scenic valley as you pass through paddy fields, plantations and fruit orchards. After dinner have a good chat with the host family about the village history and folktales before retiring to bed.

There are many optional activities to try such as quad biking, cycling, tubing at the river and photos in traditional costume. Be sure to ask the host family.

Please bring: sun block lotion, personal toiletries and towel, insect repellent, hat, walking/trekking shoes, good grip sandals, drinking water bottle, swimming attire, camera and raincoat. (B,L,D)Accommodation: Kiulu Homestay, 1 night.

Day 4 – 13 May 19: Kiulu Valley –Kota Kinabalu National Park –Kundsang - Wake up and enjoy the quaint cool morning. After breakfast, check out and travel to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu. Make a short stop at Pekan Nabalu market to sample local fruits in season and to stretch our legs. Visit the Kundasang War Memorial Park to learn about Sabah's WWII history and for great photos with the majestic Mount Kinabalu (if weather permits). Thereafter, we proceed to the Kinabalu Natural History Gallery and Mountain Garden in Kinabalu Park Headquarters. If weather permits, take a guided walk on one of the trails to explore the cool montane forest. Continue to the resort for an overnight including breakfast. Day 5 – 14 May 19: Kundasang –Sandakan. After breakfast, continue the drive to Poring, east of KinabaluPark HQ to walk amidst tropical lowland rainforests leading up to the treetop canopy walkways. Enjoy lunch, before visiting the KipungitWaterfall, stopping for a soak here or in the rejuvenating hot sulphur public pools. If the weather permits, enjoy a delightful but very ticklish fish massage at the Moroli River in Luanti which will almost certainly leave you in giggles. After lunch proceed overland to Sandakan where you will be dropped off at the hotel for a two night stay including breakfast. Day 6 – 15 May 19: Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary. Today, you will be picked up from hotel and transferred to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Watch a video about the plight of the Orang Utans and the rehabilitation efforts ongoing at the Centre. Walk ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden boardwalks to witness the feeding of the orang utansat 1000hrs then continue to the newly completed enclosed nursery area for young orang utans to watch the young

Orang-Utans at play. Thereafter visit the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about conservation of the world’s smallest bear, the Borneo Sun Bear. Along the way, the guide will share his insight and knowledge on the two critically endangered species, including their habitats, habits and plight.

After lunch proceed to Labuk Bay Proboscis Sanctuary for a walk to witness the feeding of the elusive Proboscis Monkeys and Silver Leaf Langurs. Return to the hotel.

Note: Any camera with zoom lens from 100 to 400mm, video camera or other video recording equipment for personal use is chargeable at MYR10 per unit. Any camera (fixed lens 400mm and above) or any film making equipment is chargeable at MYR1000 per unit. Mode of payment is cash only. (B,L)

Day 7 – 16 May 19: Sandakan -Sukau. This morning is at leisure. After lunch, transfer to Sandakan jetty for the 2½ hours boat journey to the multi award winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Sabah's longest river, Kinabatangan, with an opportunity to view birds and wildlife. Take a river cruise using an electric motor boat in search of wildlife and birds. Enjoy a

candle light dinner overlooking the riverbank followed by a slide presentation and interpretation by naturalist guide. There will be a complimentary Night Cruise if there are no sightings of Proboscis Monkey on the first afternoon cruise.

Day 8 – 17 May19: Kinabatangan River & Gomantong Caves. Take a 0600hrs morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to KelenanapOxbow Lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, proceed for an educational tour along the lodge’s Hornbill Boardwalk with the in-house naturalist. After lunch, join the in house Orang Utan Talk. In the afternoon take a cruise to Sukau and a 30 minute overland journey to Gomantong Caves. Traverse deep into the forest along a trail in search of the 'man of the jungle'. Witness the exodus of over two million bats as well as raptors. Return to the Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 9 – 18 May 19: Sukau –Sandakan - Kota Kinabalu. After breakfast, return to Sandakan by boat. After lunch visit the Rainforest Discovery Centre. Take a birds’ eye view of the centre from the canopy walk and hanging bridge, explore the botanical garden, home to various species of flora. Proceed to Sandakan Memorial Park for a short visit before transferring to the airport for the flight to Kota Kinabalu (B,L,)
