Safeguarding Information Evenings: The St. Joseph ’s
Safeguarding Committee is organizing information meetings for
the pastoral groups in St. Joseph’s as follows:
Tuesday, 11th of September, in St. Gerard’s Hall at 7.30pm for
Eucharistic Ministers and Collectors.
Thursday, 13th of September, in St. Gerard’s Hall at 7.30pm for Ministers of the Word, Choir Members and Martha Ministers.
Week-day Masses: From Monday, the 3 rd of September morning Masses in St. Joseph’s from
Monday to Friday will be at 8.30am and 9.30am. The evening Mass continues at the usual time of 7.30pm.
St. Gerard’s Senior Citizens Club w ill resum e its activities on Monday, 10th of September – at 3.00pm in St.

Pope Francis published a letter earlier this year called Gaudete et Exsultate, which is the latin for Rejoice and be Glad. In this letter the Pope sets out to re-propose the call to holiness in a practical
way for our time, with all its risks, challenges and opportunities. For the Lord has chosen each one of us ‘to be holy and blameless before
him’ (Ephesians 1,4). For a number of Sundays, beginning next week, a quotation from the Pope’s letter will appear in the bulletin.
Mass for Life: Archbishop Eamon Martin will celebrate
Mass to pray for the protection of life, from conception until the
moment of natural death, in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh, on Tuesday, 11 September 2018, at
7.30 p.m.

assured. Appointment not necessary (No cost involved). Thursday mornings 10.30am
– 12.30pm in Diocesan Centre, (The Magnet).

The Church Gate Collection this week-end is on behalf of the Order of Malta.
The Road Safety Authority w ill have a
‘Check it Fits’ demonstration at Meehan’s on the Dublin
Road on Friday, 14th of September, from 10.00am to
5.30pm. This refers to children’s car seats.
The Solemn Novena is just four w eeks aw ay. It begins on Monday, 8th of October. Let us pray that it will be a time of blessing for all
who take part. The preachers this year are Fr. Richard Reid C.Ss.R. (London), Sr. Elizabeth Davis (USA), Fr. John Littleton (Tallaght
Institute) and Fr. Tadhg Herbert C.Ss.R. (Fortaleza).
The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is on the 14 th of
September (Friday). This feast was first celebrated in the 4th century in
praise of the redemption won for us by Christ.
The Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows is on the 15 th of September (Saturday). Mary, standing by the foot of the cross on Calvary, suffered intensely with her Son and united herself to his
sacrifice.
Rainbows Ireland provides group support for children experiencing grief and loss following a bereavement, parental
separation and relationship breakdown. The 9 week programme commences on the 3rd of October. For registration and further
