your Investment Counsellor or through the Privacy and
Security link that appears on most pages of the CIBC
web site at www.cibc.com.
“Your Privacy is Protected” also outlines the steps to
follow when you have concerns or a complaint
regarding how your business at CIBC is handled. This
supplement to “Your Privacy is Protected” outlines
how you may resolve complaints or concerns at CIBC
Private Investment Counsel.
Resolving your concerns and complaintswith CIBC Private Investment Counsel
We are committed to upholding the CIBC privacy policy.
If you have any questions or complaints about how we
are living up to the policy, let us know right away.
Step 1: Contact Your Investment Counsellor
Step 2: Contact the CIBC Private Wealth Management Associate Vice-President
If your Investment Counsellor is unable to provide
you with the information you need, or if you are not
satisfied with their response, please speak to the
Associate Vice-President in the region you do business.

Step 3: Contact CIBC’s Integrated Business Control Services
If you are not comfortable discussing the issue with
your Investment Counsellor or the Associate Vice-
President, or if a problem is not resolved to your
satisfaction, you can contact CIBC’s Integrated Business
Control Services Group:

If by fax, be sure to include:
• Your name;
• Your address or email address where you
prefer to be reached;
• If you prefer, fax number with area code;
• The nature of your complaint; and
• Details relevant to the matter and with whom
you have already discussed the issue.

If your concerns have still not been resolved to your

The CIBC Ombudsman’s Office will acknowledge your
complaint. Then, providing legal action has not
been taken on the matter, the CIBC Ombudsman
immediately goes to work. In most cases, you will
receive a response within ten working days.
