A leading manufacturer of paper, Smurfit Kappa havea strong sustainability agenda that requires theyreduce their energy wastage. Following an energyefficiency review, their Stalybridge production site wasidentified as being able to benefit from voltagemanagement. With the supply transformer owned bythe company, the decision was made to replace theexisting transformer with a modern super low lossamorphous unit that would provide savings throughreduced transformer losses, as well as reduced supplyvoltage to site.

The installation of the Wilson e2 Super Low LossAmorphous Transformer, combined with a 5.9% voltagereduction, has significantly reduced the kWh used at theStalybridge site. The projected annual savings (based on£0.09/kWh) are in excess of £10,500 per annum. Thepayback on the total investment including transformerpurchase and installation will be achieved in under threeyears.

McCain was founded more than five decades ago on“good and responsible” business ethics. To date,McCain continue to live by these ethics and putsustainability at the centre of everything they do,including improving the energy efficiency of theirmanufacturing plant and infrastructure.

The replacement of an existing nine year old 1.6MVA,11kV:433V, CRGO transformer (manufactured in 2006)with a Wilson e2, 2MVA, 11kV;415V, 2021 Eco Designcompliant, super low loss, amorphous core transformer(manufactured in 2015), combined with a reduction insupply voltage has delivered energy savings of~273,00kWh and financial savings of over £22,000 peryear.

The Wilson e1 providesthat reliability, and the three 1.5MVA installations haveensured that British Sugar can rely on their energy supplyto keep them going.





BASFA world leader on chemical production and engineering,BASF are committed to a sustainable future. Part of thatfuture involves running their manufacturing with a strictenergy efficiency policy. To that end, BASF have installeda 2MVA Wilson e2 on their site to reduce their carbonfootprint by increasing their transformer efficiency.


GestampFounded in 1997, Gestamp provide car chassis andmechanisms to companies across the world. Theirindustrial manufacturing requires an enormous amountof power to keep their cutting edge technology working,and so the 2MVA Wilson e2 they have installed will helpthem run their plant efficiently, saving money andrecuing their CO2 output.

Rolls RoyceNobody can compare to Rolls Royce when it comes toreputation and prestige. Their engines, automobiles andpower systems are synonymous with quality andinnovation, and through their selected contractor wehave provided them with a Wilson e1 transformers attheir Bristol site (1MVA), their Filton site (1MVA), and theirInchinnan site (1.5MVA), and a speciallyordered cast resin transformer at 1.6MVA.

Baxter HealthcareWith products that are used to help millions of peopleevery day, Baxter provide various medical supplies andservices, including IV and Irrigation Solutions, PharmacyServices and Surgical care. We provided a Wilson e1 witha rating of 1.5MVA through their contractor, giving thema secure and reliable energy supply to site.





Airbus D&S LtdDelivering over 10,000 aircraft a year requires that Airbus,the 2nd largest aerospace company in the world, keepsa tight control over their energy supply. To that end wehave supplied them with an 800kVA Wilson e1 in orderto ensure they have a reliable transformer they can beconfident will be a reliable asset throughout its lifespan.
