Course InformationThe 40-hour comprehensive program will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, or community pharmacies as an ancillary, an assistant who works under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The program includes extensive classroom lecture, taught by an instructor with practical experience in the field, up-to-date written and audio-visual aids and is approved by the Indiana State Pharmacy Board.

Pharmacy Technician Health care reform and the demand for controlled health care costs have created an increasing need for well-educated technicians and assistants in the medical professions. This entry-level, noncredit program is designed to provide adult students with a rewarding career as a pharmacy technician.

Prerequisites: You must be 18 or older, have a high school diploma/GED, and have no felony convictions.

Core CoursesThis program consists of one (1) course and is completed in a semester.

Fees and EnrollmentLearner must pay fees as listed during website registration. Books, parking and supplies are included in the course fee. Some financial institutions grant loans for continuing education certificate programs. Call us for current information or contact your own financial institution about their education loan policy. Refer to course numbers listed on the website.

Certificate RequirementsLearners must attend a minimum of 75% of class sessions for each individual class. Learners will receive Continuing Education Unit certificates after the successful completion of each class. Final certificate will be awarded to learners in good standing only after completion of all classes.
