Your Will Writing Employee Benefit

Merlin Entertainments

THE TRUE BENEFIT OF MAKING A WILL

We are delighted you are considering making your Will through your employee benefits scheme. Making a Will is the only way to achieve the peace of mind that your family is fully protected when you are no longer around.

Should you die intestate (without a Will) you will have no control over how your assets are distributed. Your family may also be left facing many legal complications, delays and additional costs at what is already a difficult time.

Although it may seem like a daunting task, our aim is to make writing a Will as easy and as straightforward as possible. In the last 25 years WSL has written over 120,000 Wills helping thousands of people like you protect what is most precious to them.

MAKING A WILL IS MORE STRAIGHTFORWARD THAN YOU THINK

Our legal consultants are available to visit you in the comfort of your own home and will take the time to understand your personal circumstances and wishes. You don’t need to worry about confusing legal jargon as they will explain everything to you in easy to understand language, allowing you to make the right decisions for you and your family. Our legal department will then draft your Will and send it back for your approval.

WHO NEEDS TO WRITE A WILL?

We have put together a simple checklist to show how writing a Will can help you protect those you love. If any of the following criteria applies to your circumstances, you need to put a Will in place.

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK WSL FOR

MAKING THIS WHOLE PROCESS SO SIMPLE

AND EASYMrs Jackson, London

OUR MEETING WITH THE CONSULTANT

WAS AMAZING. HE EXPLAINED

EVERYTHING VERY CLEARLY AND

SUGGESTED THINGS WE HAD NOT

CONSIDEREDJ Andrews, Sussex

WE REALLY WANTED TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE FACE TO FACE. OUR BANK OFFERS A SERVICE BUT THE AMOUNT OF FORMS WE HAD TO PRINT PUT US OFF. THE CONSULTANT REALLY HELPED US UNDERSTAND THE WHOLE PROCESS. Mrs Galloway, Milton Keynes

DEALING WITH SOMETHING AS PERSONAL AS YOUR LAST WISHES IN YOUR HOME ENVIRONMENT MADE THE PROCESS VERY COMFORTABLEMrs Samson, London

A married couple: Without a Will your spouse or civil

partner may not automatically inherit all of your estate

An unmarried couple: Without a Will the law treats you

both as single and your partner would receive nothing

Someone with children from a previous relationship:

If you are now married, children from a previous

relationship may inherit nothing

A property owner: You should specify who you wish to

inherit or live in your property after you have passed

away and consider protecting your share against

possible care costs

Someone with new grandchildren: You may want to

add your new grandchild to your Will so they inherit

something directly from you

Do you want your final wishes to be dealt with by

somebody you know and trust? Appointing close

family or friends as the Executors of your Will avoids

the extra delays and costs associated with using banks

or solicitors

HOW DOES THE SERVICE WORK?

To qualify for your employee discount, submit your contact details at wsl-ltd.co.uk/merlin-entertainments or give us a ring on 020 8380 0332 to arrange your home visit appointment.

At the appointment, your legal consultant will take your instructions and carefully explain your options. WSL’s legal department will then draft your Will and send it to you with a comprehensive guide to signing and witnessing.

It couldn’t be simpler!

WHICH OPTION SHOULD I CHOOSE?

Single Will - This option should be chosen if you wish to write a Will just for yourself and only have solely-owned assets you wish to protect.

Mirror Wills - This option should be chosen if you wish to make a Will with your spouse or partner. Mirror Wills do not have to be identical. WSL always recommends this option should you own any assets jointly with another person, are married, or wish to protect your partner.

Both options will allow you to:

Appoint Executors, trustees and guardians

Name your beneficiaries and specify how much of your estate they are to receive

Protect your assets in trust for minor children

Ensure your estate is as tax efficient as possible

Additional Services

WSL provides other services which may be added depending on your circumstances and what you want your Will to achieve. For example, if you wish to protect your estate for a child with disabilities or for any children from a previous relationship, trusts can be included in your Will to ensure they remain the ultimate beneficiaries.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

By coming to WSL through your employee benefits scheme, you will receive preferential rates of up to 40% off the cost of the basic Will, which will be deducted through your employer’s employee benefits scheme:

You will also benefit from a further 15% off any extra services that you choose to add. A full pricelist is avaliable for download from the link on the left. There is also the option to spread the cost of any extra services with WSL’s interest free direct debit facility.
