Luckily for you this is just imagination. For someone with Autism, this is everyday life.

Autism Bedfordshire is an independent charity whose aim is to improve the quality of life for people with autism and their families in the local community. We rely on the generosity and support of local businesses and the local community, through fundraising and donations, to be able to provide our services to those people in need. Our specialist trained staff provide children’s social activity groups (Loads of Autistic Fun) and youth clubs (Wanted Fun), adult support services, a helpline service and training events. We also provide autism awareness training for organisations and

professionals to encourage acceptance and support in the community.

This year we are celebrating our 25th Anniversary and we are absolutely delighted to be selected as Your Local Flyer’s Charity of the Year for 2016/17. We look forward to working

with Stuart and the team over the coming months to help to

raise the profile of autism and vital funding for our charity.

Can I ask you to imagine for a moment, living in a world where people seem to be speaking a different language, no one understands you, you don’t know what’s going to happen next, and you are anxious and frightened but can’t tell anyone how you feel

FactDid you know that 70% of families with autism feel socially isolated? At Autism Bedfordshire, we provide a range of services which gives families somewhere where they feel they can be accepted and belong.

After 11 years as Myhome, Adam & Lorraine have some exciting news to share as they move away from being a franchise & change the Company name to

Established since 2005 having built up an excellent reputation, they now have over 200 regular customers on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. Leaders in their field, they offer a thorough, reliable & trustworthy cleaning service, with fully insured & employed staff.

Lorraine told us “it’s important to us that our customers know who they are speaking to & who will be taking care of their cleaning, not a call centre or someone outside of the area. We truly believe that as a family business with family values & ethics we are best placed in knowing how to look after our customers, they know they can always reach us on the end of the phone or by email and we take the time to understand what they need & are looking for”.

They also offer high spec one off cleans that include Tenancy, Spring and After build

cleans. They also offer Professional Carpet Cleaning.

As a celebration of this exciting step forward in their Company’s growth, they are offering 10% off all services during the month of May.

Nothing else changes – same telephone number, same high

level of service looking after their customers, just a fresh new name & website

launching soon.

A great little run-around This is a great little car for the money ideal for a small family run-around or second car great for a first car and excellent for a business all branded up!!The new Citroën C1 is up against some seriously strong rivals in the competitive city car class, such as the Volkswagen Up and the Hyundai i10.As if those two weren’t enough to worry about, the C1 also has to take on its stablemates, the Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 108. With all three cars sharing the same basic engineering DNA, it’s only the cars’ styling and pricing, and the small differences in their specifications and trim, that will matter to customers.Of the two engines we prefer the 1.0 litre, certainly for city driving. It feels very slow and needs to be

worked hard, but its five gear ratios are well spaced. Bear in mind, however, that with two or more people on board, it will struggle on steep hills. Even solo, and with your foot to the floor, the C1 builds speed very gradually. Once the power does arrive at high revs, the engine note becomes really strained. The 1.2-litre engine is only a little better in this regard because it doesn’t need to be worked quite as hard. There are three trim levels are offered: Touch, Feel and Flair. The entry-level Touch provides remote central locking, electric windows and an MP3-compatible stereo, but upgrading to Feel brings body-colour wing mirrors and door handles, air-conditioning, a height-adjustable driver’s seat and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The range-topping Flair features 15-inch alloy wheels, tinted glass, a rev counter, electric mirrors and a rear parking camera.Although the latest Citroen C1 has almost identical dimensions to its predecessor – not surprising as it’s a development of the previous-generation model’s platform – the company has done

a great job of making the design fun, fresh and entirely different from its Toyota and Peugeot sister cars. The split headlight design is an interpretation of the same theme you’ll find on the Citroen C4 Cactus, while vertical LED lights are integrated neatly into the front bumper. At the rear, square 3D-effect tail-lamps and a blacked-out glass

tailgate are also distinctive, while the side profile is shared with the Aygo and 108. It’s a similar story

with the interior design; this is replicated across all three of the city cars, with the

exception of the badges.Colour-coded trim on the centre console and gearlever surround, as well as

flashes of exterior colour on the doors and the option of striped seat upholstery, ensure the C1’s

interior is light and cheery.

n medieval times, homes were indeed castles designed to

keep the invaders out and protect the people and property within. With recent reporting about burglary rates locally, you might be wondering if you need to dig a moat, install ramparts and a portcullis to avoid being a victim!

Upgrading your home’s security is a possible solution, but so is following some simple tips to stop you looking like a possible target:

• Make it difficult for someone to conceal themselves while breaking in. Avoid tall/thick shrubs around your windows and doors.

• Having good exterior lighting on a timer helps, but the best thing is a motion sensor floodlight. When it is triggered, it says something is going on.

• Avoid having things in plain sight that might say you have lots of money. An expensive car? keep it in a garage. If you just bought a new TV, break down the box before putting it out for the bin man.

• Burglars will case an area before they rob it. They know when you and your neighbours are typically in or out. Lights on timers can help show your property to be inhabited more than it really is.

Remember, the goal is simply to make your house a less attractive

target than the other houses around it. Don’t be the

lowest-hanging fruit!

Osteopathy can treat much more than sore necks and backsFrom a frozen shoulder to a twisted ankle we treat a wide range of injuries at The Body Clinic MK. Something Nicola is seeing more and more of in clinic is patients coming in with reoccurring headaches. These days we spend much more time sitting down than our bodies are designed to do, often in front of a screen. Headaches can be caused by simple dehydration which is easy enough to fix but can also be coming from tight muscles at the base of your scull - often caused by stress or posture, a restricted neck, putting pressure on nerves and muscles or even from your jaw due to unconscious clenching or grinding. Osteopathy can really help break down these muscular contractions and release off any restrictions in your neck but there are also a few things you can try at home :-

1) Make sure you are well hydrated - this is as much about frequency as it is volume

and try to drop your caffeine intake down a little.

2) Stretch out your neck..some gentle chin tucks, shoulder rolls and ear to shoulder bends can help alleviate neck tightness.

3) Try to concentrate on relaxing your jaw.

4) If you do spend a lot of time at your desk try and aim to break up every hour with a stroll to the water machine or printer.

If you are still suffering don’t suffer in silence..give us a call at The Body Clinic MK and get yourself an appointment - Pain is your body’s way of telling you something isn’t right.

Safe & Healthy Homes

The persistent problem of incompetent and rogue traders in the UK’s home repair, maintenance and improvement market is the source of great distress, disruption and financial loss

for many homeowners. It also causes huge political concern and frustration, and pernicious reputational damage for an entire industry where the good,

hardworking majority are unfairly tarred with the same brush as the cowboys. TRUSTMARK was launched to the public in January 2006 as the Government backed quality scheme that signposts people to reputable local tradesmen.

TrustMark is the Government backed quality scheme that signposts people to reputable local firms and expert tradespeople working to Government-endorsed standards.

“ TrustMark is an easy way for consumers to identify

tradesmen who have agreed to abide by industry standards

of competence and fair trading.” Consumer Minister,

Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Business

“You may have noticed an increase in bird and insect activity in your gardens? This means bird nesting season is fast approaching and any nests (including squirrels and bats) are protected by The Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981) and cannot be disturbed or destroyed while being constructed or occupied. But what does this mean for your trees?

Birds will favour tall trees or dense foliage (Conifers especially!) as protection from predators. The presence of a nest will stop any tree works until the birds have flown. Many people are tempted to remove the

Taking Action Against Legal HighsOur local campaign to eradicate ‘Legal Highs’ in MK, got underway last month. Described as a ‘Parents Evening’, it was standing room only at MK College, with Thames Valley Police, myself, Iain Stewart MP, MK Council, Compass and OneMK presiding. The law is designed to protect our communities against the proliferation of ‘designer drugs’ most of which, at first sight, look very innocent, some are cleverly designed to resemble that of well-known sweets.

Clearly an emotive subject, it was encouraging to discuss concerns with those who want to eradicate the powerful hold these drugs have on young lives. Detective Inspector Ian Jarvis and Jo O’Connor, Assistant Director at Compass, confirmed they are developing a pack that will be sent out to schools across the city, one has already been trialled at Shenley Brook End School.

MP’s Diary

Page 33: yourlocalflyer East | May 2016

Miss O’Connor said: “Some schools fear that if they let us do a talk at their school it gives the impression there is a drug problem there, but we actually want to reach out and educate, which is why we are developing this pack.”

Review for Major Express DecoratorsHaving two small children running around the house can be fun at the best of times, but when all you can see are little finger prints all over your walls, you know it is time to do something about it, and moving the children out was not on the cards, so Kim and I went for the best option and got a decorating company in to help put the house back together.

We called Leigh from Major Express Decorators who has been advertising with us for a while and it soon became apparent that it was the best thing to do.

Leigh was very accommodating and happy to work when the children were at school and nursery, probably best as I know they would have wanted to help and don’t think help would have been what they would do.

Leigh has been very professional from the first visit to quote to the very end, popping back to

make sure everything had settled properly and to see if there was any snagging

to put right, which can I say there wasn’t but as a perfectionist in

what he does Leigh wanted to double check.

We have even had friends round who were as impressed as we

have been and have booked Leigh to go to their house to carry

out decorating for them.

Speak for itself if you ask me.

If you have any work that needs doing I would recommend speaking to Major Express Decorators.

How much of you is compartmentalized or unnoticed? From a very early age we learn to segregate our actions, thoughts, desires and emotions as we establish how to be, how to think, what to show or keep inside, what is deemed correct, acceptable or out of sync. But who and what became the main authority that directs us? Who decided all of this - what for and when? And does this same conditioning still apply to life unfolding now today?Just the same as all of us life itself has been through definite periods of defining shifts and change, driven by humanity, by intellect, by need, want, desire, circumstance, religion or society, geographical placement, commerce, financial shakeup and social trending; not to mention the natural shifts of planetary movement and behaviour, the fall and rise of temperatures and nature’s own behaviour due to weather and cosmic influence… Not all changes were born from choice but opportunity, necessity and the greater clout of strength / need / will of the many lives then playing out within that time frame. So what does all this mean to you? What has influenced you from past to present to become who you now are – and how and why?Every family has its set of personal likes and dislikes, what it will accept and what it deems a no-no or forbidden. But who influenced them and why; what predominant conditions prevailing in that time frame then played out? It’s very likely that life for them was very different than for you now, so can you be sure that what was picked up and programmed in – to be what you now unconsciously carry within your psyche is still appropriate today? One way to know the answer to this question is ‘are you happy’? Is life working well for you – is it responding? Are you healthy and fulfilled and are those around you in your family? For many this would be ‘no’. They feel that life is hard and is more often stagnant or set against them. For others love and happiness at best elude them. Many are deeply stressed – being worried about daily life and worldly matters. They may drift from day to day as though life is but a treadmill, with little sign or hope ahead of this abating. But what if you could stop this? What if much boiled down to you? What if life could somehow reach within to help you break this cycle of pre-conditioning that holds you back – to help you grow into your birth right of being happy and successful in every aspect: if energy and information you fed life back could be more positive - life would benefit – as would we – to then birth in a whole new cycle of attraction…Most of what occurs today is automatic. From a point of primal programming, without the need of conscious thought or choice – you respond to what you watch, feel, want, need, hear, intend as you have before – within an instant. Often this serves you well, but just as often it holds you back; keeping you within confinement of what is usual or expected; leaving little room for intuition, creativity, freedom or fresh insight/thought; so the same words, actions, re-actions, behaviours and responses play out repeatedly. You are powerful – don’t you know that – as you work with life itself on life’s behalf to co-create, invent and then produce what you give attention / life force to; you are a manifester of high degree within your own right.

To-date you may have lived within the boundary of your beliefs according to what was usual, expected or accepted. But perhaps you don’t yet know your own life’s higher purpose of why it is the way it is; not knowing what sits behind it or the deeper reasons of what you witness; or what from your personal viewpoint and intelligence you could alter for the better – for yourself or for your family or for life’s own higher web of creative programming still unfolding.Perhaps the first one in your lineage to break though into understanding/ using / noticing these universal shifts occurring – you came to make a stand, a difference, to break through blockages within your own space, to pave the way for those yet to come that may one day birth in greater gifts to give life back (because you too helped). Your soul knows what this means even if you yourself don’t realise; it knows the shifts your life must

make before your time on Earth is done and the program that is your story becomes complete and then unchangeable – for

now at least…Not one thing that you have been through has been

for nothing. All has had a reason, a payback and what may be deemed a higher purpose when you look back. Life is trying to wake you up, to help you realize what is occurring, for it too must reposition and take you with it.Things are changing for a reason. Not because

they’re broken or because systems no longer work, but to bring in greater balance for the good

of Earth itself. From the bottom to the top we are in re-birth.

Keeping thoughts compartmentalized in blocks or boxes holds you back. It keeps you on automatic instead of flowing. It’s

necessary and very needed that you know why you are as you are - to be able to let go of what no longer serves, to make room for intuition, higher growth and change – that includes us.Peace, Love, Happiness and Balance are yours by birth-right. How they will come in, how far, how deep is your choice too. It’s up to you.‘Access Your Happiness Now’ - is an easy to use home workshop designed to help you. Perfect for busy lives and lifestyles it will give you greater confidence, life control and understanding and helpful tips on how to nurture the next phase of your own soul’s life plan now birthing in…Note* If you enjoy these monthly channelled writings then you’ll love what’s available on our website… Please share this information if you feel we’ve hit the mark – for what you give out freely bounces back increased to aid and help you… Thank you xUntil next month;Be safe, well and happy…Be all you search outwardly for…

Positive livingBoxes…
