Youth Director/Leader Responsibilities

- Main objective is to ensure the safety of each delegate and to make sure the delegates are where they need to be when they need to be there.

- Will assign each chaperone (including herself), the names of the delegates they need to be responsible for while at the Convention. Will make sure each delegate knows who they are accountable to so each delegate’s location will be known at all times. This is helpful when room keys are handed out.

- Will be responsible for the emergency contact info and health info, and will have the emergency first aid kit accessible

Information about Oratory:

The characteristics of oratory that distinguishes it from public speaking, in general is thatit appeals to the emotions. No matter how clear, logical or effective speaking may be, as long as it appeals primarily to the intellect, it remains public speaking.

When, however, emotions are touched – love, joy, hate, ambition- then speaking becomes oratory. And although oratory appeals powerfully to the emotions of the hearer, yet it is not necessarily preaching.

Oratory is composed of two elements: matter and manner. When one gives an oration, one should be certain of the content and substance of his/her

Greater North Carolina Youth Convention

Ladies of Excellence Pageant Program!

Designed for ladies ages 13 – 18; the Mission of the Ladies of Excellence Pageant is to provide opportunities for growth and development amongst young ladies of Greater North Carolina through talent, team work, public speaking and non-profit business development; To uphold a standard of holiness and purity for God in all areas of life according to Second Corinthians 6:17 “being separate from the world” and “caring for the things of the Lord” according to First Corinthians 7:34.

Not only is the program beneficial to participants but it also offsets some of the cost for the Youth Convention! We are also able to provide education scholarships for participants, and a portion of the money raised will be used to sponsor a portion of the queen’s trip to participate in the National Auxiliaries In Ministries (AIM) Youth Young Women of Excellence Pageant Program 2013, this year in Baltimore, Maryland.

We are excited and hope that you will have a lady of excellence to participate this year! Our reigning Queen for 2012 – 2013 is:

Lady Imani Tyson from the Bishop Wyoming Wells District!

For more information please speak with your local youth worker or regional youth advisory council member.

We Are Pleased To Announce the Initial Beginning of the

YOUNG MEN OF VALOR PROGRAM

Every young man between the ages of 13 – 18 is invited to participate in the program designed just for you. The mission statement of the YMV is to develop young men to be distinctively valiant exhibiting a lifestyle of holiness and excellence by equipping them with sound biblical principles and values to make powerful life choices and decisions. Thus promoting: education, bravery, discipline, and spiritual development; we will manufacture anointed leaders known as Young Men of Valor. During our session we will discuss how to maintain sexual purity, appropriate behavior for dating, becoming a mentor for the next generation and many other facets to make you a Young Man of Valor! We would like for each district to send us two (2) young men to participate in this year’s program. WE WANT YOU!

You may download the application online at www.gncjyouthdepartment.weebly.com

Commemorative Souvenir Journal

It's time to celebrate! That's right we are celebrating 20 years since the inception of this great convention! 20 years ago our Anointed and Strategic leader, Bishop Woolard saw the need to bring the YPWW and Sunday Schools of the East and West together for one big convention and thus the Annual Youth Convention was birthed out. Look at how far we've come, how much we've grown and what the youth convention has produced...pastors, elders, ministers, missionaries, evangelists, etc. To God be the Glory! Don't you want to be a part of our celebration? Well this is the perfect opportunity for you. We are compiling a commemorative souvenir journal to honor and celebrate our accomplishments as a convention. You can take part in this by purchasing an ad or being a 20th year patron. Ads are $50 for 1 full page, $25 for one 1/2 page and $20 for a quarter page (no picture) or you can be a 20th year patron for only $2.00. We know that you will help us in our endeavor as we continue to promote the Kingdom through Youth Ministries. You may submit ready ads through email at [email protected] or call 252-327-1990 for mailing options. God Bless You and Let's Celebrate!
