• 40% of the 516 respondents meeting the Commission’s definition had received a high school diploma or equivalency and an additional 12% had obtained some post-secondary education.

• 56% Percent of respondents being female ishigher than the national average. Weattribute this to the fact that several CoCsconducted outreach to pregnant andparenting youth who are being served by theState’s Emergency Assistance family shelterprogram.

• National estimates for LGBTQ homeless youthrange from 20-40%, suggesting our results of22% at the very bottom of those estimatesmay be an under reporting of the true extentof LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessnesshere in Massachusetts.

• 44% of respondents do not have a high schooldiploma or equivalent
