JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Human Resources Director

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

CLASSIFICATION: Salary, Exempt

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Manages the overall administration, coordination and

evaluation of the human resource function. Manages ongoing training, development,

and performance management for all staff, including identification of needs for external

training and resources. Optimizes recruiting efforts to ensure attraction and retention of

qualified staff. Coordinates ongoing leadership development for existing and emerging

leaders. Leads organizational employee wellness initiatives, reward and recognition

programs, cultural awareness education, and employee engagement programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, Communications,

or related field

Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in Human Resources field, with 3+ years in a

business partner or leadership role.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP),SHRM Certified Professional

(SHRM-CP) or PHR or SPHR credential preferred

Ability to collaborate well with others

Previous experience leading an HR initiative preferred

process (including scheduling and conducting phone and in-person interviews of

applicants), through performing reference checks and notification of candidate

acceptance or denial using applicant tracking system.

Collects, verifies and maintains employee files and documentation including I-9s,

driving record, free from communicable disease forms, submission and review of

employee background checks and all other employment forms at hire and

throughout employee lifecycle as needed.

Plan, facilitate and evaluate new employee orientation sessions.

Periodically reviews and makes recommendations to senior team for improvement of

the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters to align

with best HR practices.

Maintains knowledge of EEO and other employment regulations, of industry trends

and federal, state, and local employment legislation, of HR-related accreditation

requirements, and ensures organization's compliance.

Manages relationship and services of third party HR vendor.

Assists senior team in the annual review, preparation and administration of the

organization's wage and benefit program.

Administers and coordinates health and welfare plans with third party HR vendor,

including enrollments, changes and terminations. Process required documents

through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and

proper deductions.

Plans, organizes, and executes the organizational recruitment and retention

strategy, including working with leadership to maximize employee roles and identify

staffing needs.

Collaborates with Finance lead on workplace safety and worker’s comp. issues.

Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their

responsibilities on personnel matters including performance management,

counseling and related documentation, and problem-solving/grievance procedures.

Supervises the staff of the human resource department, if applicable.

Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff and leadership development for all

levels of the organization and maintains related employee training documentation.

Leads organizational employee wellness initiatives, reward and recognition

programs, and cultural awareness education.

Advises senior team on employee engagement initiatives and administers employee

surveys.

Develops and maintains a human resource information system that meets the

organization's personnel information needs.

Oversees and participates in HR related projects and initiatives.

Communicates HR related changes to employees and supervisors as needed.

Observes behavior and interactions involving youth at all times, and reports any

potentially harmful or suspicious behaviors immediately through the incident

reporting process.

Other duties as assigned.
