INTERACT

For students ages 14-18 in their last 4 years of secondary school.

Usually based in high schools, Interact Clubs give students opportunities to develop initiative, leadership skills, teamwork skills, a community service ethic and international understanding. The involvement of enthusiastic and supportive Rotarians is vital to an Interact Club's success.

RYPEN – ROTARY YOUTH PROGRAM OF ENRICHMENT

WHO IS IT FOR?

• Both boys & Girls– 15 years to 16 years– Years 9 to 10

• Who want to increase their: – Confidence– Self Esteem– Team Working skills– Public Speaking ability– Motivation

RYPEN is designed for the middle of the road or average students and not for the outstanding few.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF RYPEN• RYPEN aims to provide young people with the

opportunity to develop their leadership potential, alongside their peers in a supportive environment.

• RYPEN encourages awardees to explore their ideas in problem solving, team and group activities, and gain experiences that will assist them in forming their own values and moral standards. As a part of this, RYPEN is about building confidence and developing skills to cope in a range of situations.

• RYPEN is also about having fun and broadening the cultural, social and academic horizons of participants.

WHAT WILL THEY GAIN FROM ATTENDING RYPEN?

• Increased motivation and improved life skills. Better self-image and more pride in themselves.

• An understanding of setting and achieving goals. • The confidence to overcome failure and take

control of their future.

WHEN IS RYPEN?

• First weekend in February at Narrabeen & Second weekend in June at Blue Gum Lodge Springwood

• A Leadership Award;• A week long life-changing experience for

young adults aged 18-27;• A personal and professional development

program; and• A program run by young leaders, for

young leaders• (all of the facilitators are returned RYLArians)
