WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG CRAFTERS FROM EUROPE in connection with the Europa Nostra European Heritage Congress 2015 7 - 14 June, Oslo NORWAY Fortidsminneforeningen, the Society for the Preservation of Norwegian Ancient Monuments, in cooperation with Europa Nostra invites young craftsmen from across Europe to come together to participate in an intensive, 7-day workshop focusing on the traditional crafts and building techniques of Norway. The programme has been specially designed to coincide with the Europa Nostra Annual Congress in Oslo (10-14 June 2015) and will allow young European crafters to take part in hands-on training sessions in conservation and restoration, township development and environmental protection with a special focus on learning about traditional Norwegian wooden craftsmanship and masonry. The programme will also include visits to museums and special excursions. A contribution to the travel expenses (max. 200 EUR per person), all expenses related to accommodation in Oslo, breakfasts and lunches during the period of the workshop and expenses for necessary transportation in Oslo will be covered by the Society for the Preservation of Norwegian Ancient Monuments, subject to confirmation of the financial support from Norwegian public bodies concerned. As part of the programme of the workshop, participants will also be invited to attend some public events organised in the framework of the Europa Nostra Annual Congress in Oslo, including the European Heritage Awards Ceremony which will be held in the evening of 11 June at the emblematic Oslo City Hall. Who can apply? Any young person, from 18 to 25 years old, who studies craftwork, specifically woodworking and who reside in a European country which is a member state of the Council of Europe.
