Before - Intended Learning Outcomes

• Use the Blackboard Collaborate online meeting room with increasing ease– Run a successful audio setup– Receive and save a file (and figure out where you put it)– Communicate in the main room and breakout rooms by:

• Using the whiteboard tools• Using the chat window• Turning on and off the “stepped away from the session” indicator• Use emoticons• Put your hand up and down• Participate in a poll

– Save the whiteboard slides or chat window– Participate in a web tour

strategy (participate in a literature circle discussion group.)

• Know how to access all of the meeting dates at any time

• Begin to develop a “product” for our final sharing session (The ownership piece of assessment for learning.)

• Know what to do to request (additional) reading materials

Before - Group Norms

• Technicial Norms– Run the audio setup wizard

prior to each session– Turn off your mic on and off– Once a timer has expired,

wrap up your conversations and turn off your microphone

– Use the step away button, emoticons, hand up/down buttons when appropriate

– Alert me to questions or comments that go unanswered in the chat box.

• Discussion Group Norms– Share book title, page, etc.

– All voices must be included and participants must feel included

• Let people pass• Take turns• Interrupt politely• Continue on the ideas of
