In the past two years, with a tourism revolution to implement “regulating market, smart tourism and a no-hassle return policy”, tourists to Yunnan have found that the tourism environment has been improved and the tourist experience has become better. In November, Ms. Wang from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, had a plan to visit Puzhehei in southeast Yunnan's Qiu Bei county of Wenshan city. Before her visit, she received a link of an e-contract about the hotel of this trip sent by the national tourism supervision platform. Ms. Wang said that e-contract saves her time and it can be tracked on the national tourism supervision platform with a contract number. Data shows that from January to October this year, the rate of complaints related to Yunnan on the national tourism supervision platform fell by 15 per cent, the rank has dropped from 22nd in January to 27th in October. Kong Limei, a visitor from Chuxiong, has become popular in her friends circle because she stayed in Lijiang Sedona San He Residence Smart Tour hotel recently. “Through the tour Yunnan app or self-service terminal at the front desk, you can choose the check-in time and room type and other information. Self- check out also set me free from the trouble of queuing,” said Kong Limei. A mobile phone Tour Yunnan app not only provides room reservation service, but also helps solve other issues tourists might encounter. As for tourism complaints, through the Tour Yunnan app or phone call or voice message, tourists can quickly file a complaint or consult a problem in their trip, and would normally receive a solution within 24 hours. The Tour Yunnan app can be a good assistant to tourists’ for renting cars, air-ticket booking, food selection, AI recognition of sceneries and flowers as well as souvenir selection. Now, 350 products return and refund supervision centres and service points have been established in Yunnan province, covering airports, eight high-speed train stations, 3A and above scenery spots and key hotels. The products return and refund service network overs the whole province. By Wang Huan and Li Hengqiang It was reported that 113,000 5G base stations have been built in China, which is expected to reach 130,000 at the end of this year. More than 870,000 signed 5G package users indicates a sound mo- mentum of 5G development. Photo by Xinhua Every winter, Kunming—nick- named the Spring City of China -would welcome the return of tens of thousands of black-headed sea- gulls after their far-flung journeys starting off in southern Siberia. Local residents regard these feathered guests as an unexpected gift of nature. And many of them still cannot forget November 12, 1985—the exact date when nearly 10,000 seagulls appeared on the ho- rizon and hovered around in the sky. It was the first time that these white little birds with orange peaks ever visited Kunming in large quantities. The citizens were appalled and soon mesmerized by such spectacle. Generally speaking, black-head- ed gulls arrive in Kunming between October and December in a year, and inhabit around the city with a span up to six months until the end of May. For the past 35 years con- secutively, the return of gulls—like an annually-held ritual - has again and again invigorated its urban life, and these adorable birds, in turn, are reckoned as the synonym of Kun- ming. Through investigation, three ma- jor migratory routes were mapped out by ornithologists. The first, starting from Kunming to the Bakal area via several parts of China- encompassing Sichuan, Shanxi, Ningxia and Inner Mongolia— is the most known one among the pub- lic. The second, instead of traveling all the way up to Russia, halts near two saline lakes in Mongolia, name- ly Uvs and Khyargas, while the last route indicates that gulls also end their journey around the Bosten Lake in Xinjiang, northwest China, after flying over Sichuan, Qinghai and Gansu provinces. Today, we can almost say that the decade-long riddle of where Kun- ming’s seagulls come from has been unraveled. “I believe that new data and knowledge will lead us to better understand and protect these lovely ‘water pigeons’”, said Zhao Xue- bing, the secretary-general of Kun- ming Birdwatching Association. By Duan Jianxing The Research report on the status quo of Chinese private en- terprises along the Belt and Road was released on November 19 by China Federation of Industry and Commerce and shows that 83.2 percent of the surveyed enterprises hold an optimistic and positive attitude towards their future devel- opment overseas with a high level of confidence. According to the survey, more than 60 per cent of the enterpris- es investing overseas have had a smooth overall operation since the beginning of operation, among which 31.5 per cent have faced more difficulties at the beginning and are now running smoothly. Researchers further cross-ana- lysed the degree of confidence in the development of enterprises and their current operating conditions. It was found out that enterprises with smooth operation have high- er confidence in the future, while more than half of enterprises with difficult or volatile operation have confidence in the future develop- ment.
