Zebra Landscape and Tree Care Standard Operating Procedure Process: Power Edging Steps Key Points Pictures Do no power edge along paver surfaces or black top unless specifically instructed to. 1) Verify that the turf has already been mowed. If edges have not been edged before or are unusually long it may be necessary to edge before mowing. 2) Start edger with the blade set in the edge 3) Hold the edger so the wheel rides along the curb/walk Hold the edger trigger with your right hand and the handle with your left keeping the entire edger on your right side while using it. 4) Keep the blade against the hard surface as you walk Listen carefully while edging to ensure that you can hear the blade scraping against the hard surface. Be extremely careful not to hit any irrigation heads 5) Repeat 3 and 4 for all edges. 6) Clean up If necessary use a sod spade and bucket to scrape up any large pieces of edging. Use the blower to blow clippings from mowing and edging back into turf.
