About Us
Zenith Learning (ZL), a non-profit organization which
operates in the State of Texas, serves families with
children in grades PreK-12 by providing safe, enjoyable
and affordable after school care and programs. Children
are served a snack each day and participate in a variety
of age-appropriate, play-oriented activities, including
games, sports, arts and crafts, drama, cooking, music,
science experiments, special events and more! The
program is licensed by the Texas Family and Protective
Services. ZL follows the Schools' calendar and does not operate when schools are
closed. ZL may offer summer school activities at some campuses.

Visiting a Site
Parents are welcome to visit and observe the
program at any time. Because staff is actively
involved with children during program hours,
scheduling a time to talk with the Site Director or
Program Director is recommended.
Staff
ZL staff members are well-qualified specialists who
have a sincere interest in children and are
committed to providing a warm, supportive
environment to enhance the child's self-image. Staff
members receive training in First Aid, Child Abuse
Recognition and Prevention and the Management of Communicable Diseases. They are
also required to complete 15 hours of additional training each school year. Each staff
member is required to submit references and an affidavit. A criminal record check is
performed on each employee.
Ratios
Our typical after care student-to-staff ratio is 20:1. This ratio varies for enrichment
classes.

After School Care
Homework Help
This class provides time for students to work
on their homework. Students can work on both
daily homework and long-term projects. Staff is
available to answer questions and help
students get started on their homework, but
this is not a tutoring session.
Arts & Crafts
Art History and Fine Arts mediums are used to develop projects and
encourage the children’s creativity. While they are exploring color,
texture, shapes, and different types of materials, they are learning
to freely express their feelings and ideas through art.
Board Games & Manipulatives
Gives children the opportunity to expand hand-eye
coordination and develop their problem solving skills.
Zenith Learning Program After School Care 4
Science & Computer
Students have access to computers with adult supervision and
hands-on projects which stimulate their curiosity about life and
nature.
Gym/Outdoor Time
After being in a structured environment
all day, time is given to the children to
release energy through organized games
and free play.

Enrichment Classes
Martial Arts
Students develop self-discipline and respect while
learning the basics of the martial arts Tae Kwon Do
and/or Kung Fu. They are taught the requirements to
promote them to the next belt level in a traditional
manner, with particular emphasis on mental as well
as physical training. (K-8, beginners have white or
orange belts, intermediate students have yellow belts
and above)
Musical Instruments
Students will be introduced to the
fundamentals of music (note reading, rhythm,
theory, technique and practice discipline) using
the guitar, violin, or keyboard as a mechanism
for study. Students will participate in class
demonstration and group assignments.
Students will be assigned numerous weekly
assignments, and will be expected to practice.
Zenith Learning Program Enrichment Classes 6

of dance with songs kids love. This includes
warm-up, movement and a cool down. Zumba
fitness classes increase focus and self-
confidence, boost metabolism and improve
coordination. Students should wear loose fitting,
comfortable clothing that is easy to move in and
gym shoes.
Lego – Introduction to Robotics
BUILDING BRAINS uses LEGO Duplo and K’NEX
educational kits to BUILD math and science skills. K’NEX
pieces are rounded, spiked, corrugated, grooved, hollow, and
can be engineered into any design idea. Students will
BUILD simple machines that really work, using gears, levers
and pulleys, while BUILDING fine motor skills and
confidence.
Zenith Learning Program Enrichment Classes 7
Lego I & II Basic Robotics
Learn to build simple machines using gears, levers and pulleys and then motorize these
machines using LEGO and K'NEX educational kits and curriculum while building math and
science skills. Students will be learning how to apply engineering principles to everything they
build. Students will understand how a machine works and understand how to manipulate it to go
faster or slower. Fine motor skills, critical thinking skills; imagination and confidence will
increase in this fun-filled class.
Robotics
Working in teams, we’ll teach you how to design,
build and test remote controlled miniature robots.
Your robot will compete with other robots. All
necessary materials, including motors, gears,
pulleys, wheels and axles, and microcomputers will
be available for student use. It will be up to you and
your teammates to put them all together in original
ways to make your robot do what you want it to.

Soccer
Zenith soccer club is offering weekly classes
filled with a variety of fun and age-
appropriate games for children in
Kindergarten and up. Our curriculum is
professionally designed to help develop
motor skills, promote physical fitness, and
create self-confidence in young children as
they play and participate in class. Although
we typically promote a non-competitive environment for our younger age groups, students in our
older age categories will experience a more challenging and competitive structure as they
become proficient in the fundamentals of soccer.
Gardening
Students will enjoy a fun, hands-on
science and nutrition activity by
learning about and growing their
own plants. They will also enjoy
creative art activities such as
decorating pots and making their
own planters. They will practice
literacy, explore the scientific
process, and hone math and art
skills by keeping a garden journal in which they sketch and describe plants, chart their growth,
and make predictions about future growth. They will learn about testing soil and using a rain
gauge and what the results mean for a garden. These activities will help them build a love of
nature, make good food choices, add some hands-on experiential learning to their classroom
science lessons, and stimulate social interaction.
Zenith Learning Program Enrichment Classes 9
Board Games
Let’s make learning exciting and fun for children! Playing
board games will help them develop cognitive and motor
skills. Board games are a great way to introduce new skills
such as matching, sorting, memory and counting.
Games include strategy games such as Monopoly, Clue,
Yahtzee, Scrabble, etc...
Ballet This class is an introduction to ballet, the language of dance.
Children will explore movement and begin to learn names and
specific movements. Children are exposed to the structure of a
ballet class in a way that is both fun and developmentally
appropriate. Children learn the importance of warming up, cooling
down and performing, as they will develop more challenging and
sophisticated movements in the classical dance vocabulary.
Dancers should wear tights, leotards and ballet slippers.
