Propose legislative amendments and new laws to promote
energy efficiency in buildings.
Promote the concept, proper design and use of thermal
envelopes in buildings.
Represent its associates in national and international
forums.
Mitigate climate change.
AEAEE GOALS
Lead the way with stakeholders and end-users of energy to
reap the big savings potential of energy efficiency in
buildings while promoting sustainable development.

Development and promotion of a voluntary standard adopted by CONAVI and
INFONAVIT.(sustainable requirements incorporated into CONAVI Housing
Model Code): NMX-C-460-ONNCCE-2009: Construction industry – Thermal
Envelope – «R» Value by climate zones in Mexico – Specifications and Testing.
National training programs on NMX-C460-ONNCCE-2009, targeting architects,
engineers and building supervisors (all regions, more than 1,700 participants in
2 weeks).
“Green Mortgage”.
Subsidies program “Esta es tu casa
Active AEAEE participation in programs with the Mexican government to
promote energy efficiency in housing:

Charrette goals:
• One day workshop to study the energy demand for a modelproject including the building envelope. Identifying allpossible energy reductions within a budget criteria formaximum ROI and GHG reductions. Use of renewableenergy sources
Structural elements
Arquitectural elements for shading and interior lighting.
Thermal insulation requirements by climate zone
Thermal mass and buildings orientation
Home appliances, solar thermal, PV panels, etc.
Modeling
5 design Charrettes starting February, 2010.
Asociación de Empresas para el Ahorro de la Energía en la Edificación, A.C.
Achieve Zero balance between energy use and production of renewableenergy during a full year (to accommodate Mexican Power Companyrestrictions, new two-way smart meters).
Reduce energy consumption to the lowest possible, not to exceed lowestsubsidized rates, combining architectural and urban bio-climate design andthe use of government approved eco-technologies (solar water heating,CFL’s, insulation and AC efficient units, etc.) to achieve maximum energysavings and highest thermal and energy efficiency.
Install PV systems to generate energy during high demand, daylight time.
