STEP 8: INSTALL THE FACADE MOUNTS
Note: Zig Zag Omitted for Clarity8a) Attach an 8 foot “Z” section Bracket (L) to each vertical column of an “H” rack. Use five (5) 5/16-
18 × 1 hex head cap screws and flange nuts for each Bracket as shown in the detail box below. The bottom of each “Z” Bracket (L) should be placed close to the bottom of the column.
8b) Attach two (2) 4 foot “Z” Brackets (I) to the cross beam approximately 18" from the columns. Use eight (8) #10 × 3/4" tek screws for each “Z” Bracket (I).
8c) Select two (2) 2 × 6s 4' long (AA) and attach to the “Z” Brackets (L) on each “H” rack column. The lower end of the bottom 2 × 6 should rest on the floor. Leave a 12" gap between the 2 × 6s so that the top of the upper 2 × 6 is 9' above the floor. Use eight (8) 1-1/4" drywall screws through each “Z” Bracket.
Note: You may need to shift the Zig Zag a little to access the holes.
8d) Select an 8' 2 × 6 non-mitered board (BB) and attach it to the “Z” Brackets (I) on the cross beam. Locate it so that it spans both “Z” Brackets (I). Select a 4' 2 × 6 (AA) and attach it to the other “Z” Bracket (I). Use four (4) 1-1/4" drywall screws through each “Z” Bracket.

2 × 6 (DD) that has a 22 degree miter cut on one end to the long leg of the Frame Angle (X). The square end of the 2 × 6 should be flush with the bottom of the Frame angle. Use eight (8) 1-1/4" drywall screws, one through each pre-punched hole. Select an 18" long 2 × 6 (EE) with miter cuts on both ends. Butt it to the 84" 2 × 6 (DD) and attach to the diagonal section of the Frame Angle (X) with four (4) 1-1/4" drywall screws. Repeat for the Right Frame Angle (W).
9b) Attach the Left assembly to the 2 × 6 (AA) that was attached to the “H” rack in Step 8. Align as shown in the Sectional View below. The assembly rests on the floor. Use at least six (6) 2-1/2" drywall screws.
9c) Repeat to attach the Right Frame Angle (W) assembly as the mirror image.
9d) The length of the cross header of the sill must be determined in the field. Use two (2) 8' 2 × 6s (CC) with a miter cut on one end. Shorten one of the 2 × 6s as necessary. Use the offcut from this piece to make a Splice at least 12" long. Fasten the 2 × 6s to the Facade Frame Angles with 1-1/4" drywall screws through each pre-punched hole. Use 2-1/2" drywall screws to attach the Splice to the top of the header boards.

12a) See Detail 1. Begin at the right end of the display and place the bottom of an 18-1/2" Side Graphic Support MDF Panel (F) in the slot created by the Graphic Cap (R) from Step 4, at the bottom of Right Side Frame (C). Slide the right edge of the MDF Panel (F) all the way to the right vertical column of the Side Frame (C). The BLACK side of MDF Panel (F) faces the outside/back of the display. Install the printed graphics in the same manner. Capture the graphic by fastening the “Z” section Graphic Cap (H) to the right column of the Side Frame (C) with five hex head sheet metal screws.
12b) Select a 28-5/8" Graphic Support MDF Panel (D) and fit its bottom into the slot created by the Graphic Cap (Q) at the bottom of Large Frame (A). Slide its left edge all the way to the left of the left vertical column of the Large Zig Zag Panel (A). It will be “inside” the column. Install the printed graphics in the same manner. Capture the right edge of the graphic by fastening the Two-sided Graphic Cap (J) to the Side Frame (C) with five hex head sheet metal screws as shown in Detail 2.
12c) Select a 12" Graphic Support Panel (E) and place the bottom in the slot created by the Graphic Cap (S) at the bottom of Small Frame (B). Slide it to the right until it contacts the right vertical column of the Small Zig Zag Frame (B). Install the printed graphics in the same manner. Install the next 28 5/8" Graphic Support MDF Panel (D) and printed graphic. Refer to the drawings that show a cross-section of the left facade column.
14a) Begin with the 84" Vinyl Jamb (PP) and nail it to the facade frame with its short edge flush with the outer face of the OSB. Place nails within 2" of the front edge. Repeat on the opposite side of the frame. Add both 17" Vinyl Jamb (RR) pieces. Use two (2) 66" Vinyl Jambs (QQ) to complete the horizontal section. They are mitered one end, but must be cut to length.
14b) Nail the 84" Brickmould (SS) to the face of the OSB with its short edge set 1/4" in from the face of the Jamb. Repeat on the opposite side of the frame. Add both 18" Brickmould (WW) pieces. Two (2) 76" pieces of Brickmould (UU) & (VV) are provided to complete the horizontal section. They are mitered one end, but must be cut to length.
14c) Nail the 84" section of Garage Door Seal (YY) to the Jamb with the thin section of the Seal extending beyond the Jamb. Repeat on the opposite side of the frame. Add both 16" Door Seal (CCC) pieces. Two (2) 67" pieces of Seal (AAA) & (BBB) stock are provided to complete the horizontal section. They are mitered one end, but must be cut to length.
14d) “J” Channel (XX) is used to completely surround the Brickmould. It will be attached with Wafer Head Screws (Bag #8), but first must be cut to length and mitered. Miters are 22-1/2 degrees.
14e) Attach “J” Channel (XX) flush with the outer edge of the OSB to completely surround the outer edge of the facade.
14f) Install the siding pieces. NOTE that the first piece should be 1/4 off the floor in order for the upper pieces to fit at the diagonal. The top-most long section will have to be ripped in the field to fit. Use the Wafer Head Screws (Bag # 8) to fasten the siding.

17a) The drawing below right shows the setup for doors hinged on the left side (a Prototype display). For doors hinged on the right (Reverse Prototype display), the Hinge Mount (GGG) will rest on the left side of the Fixture (JJJ).
The bottom of the doors will always butt against the DOOR STOP. For the 12 doors with “low” spacing, the bottom flange of the Hinge Mount (GGG) will butt against the HINGE MOUNT STOP. The 3 doors with the special “higher” spacing will use the KEY and slots as describe on page 20.
Door samples are either “thick” or “thin”. Choose either the “thick” or “thin” setup so that the corner of the Hinge does not extend above the face of the door. The drawing shows a “thick” door sample. Page 20 will show the setup for a “thin” door sample.
17b) Select a previously assembled Hinge/Hinge Mount. Place the Hinge Mount on the UPPER LEDGE of the Fixture. Attach the Hinge to the Door with four (4) #8 × 3/4" Tek Screws.

STEP 20: ASSEMBLE THE DOOR SAMPLE BUMPERS20a) Flip the door panel over and attach a ¾” diameter by 1" tall Rubber Bumper to the backside
of the door panel. All the necessary components are included in hardware packages # 12, 13, and 14. Drill a 3/32" pilot hole 2" from the bottom edge and from the edge of the side opposite the hinge. Fasten with a #8 × 1 ¼” Phillips head sheet metal screw.
20b) For “thin” door panels, it will be necessary to place a 1/2" spacer under the rubber bumper. Note the components shown in the drawing. The nylon bushing keeps the spacer centered with the bumper. Sheet metal screws that are 2" long are provided for this assembly.
20c) In order to reinforce the sheet metal structure of most of the door panels, insert two (2) # 8 × 1/2" Phillips head tek screws through the sheet metal overlaps near the corner of the edge of the door where the hinge assembly was installed.
