Confession and Absolution P Our help is in the name of the Lord, C who made heaven and earth. P If You, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? C But with You there is forgiveness; therefore You are feared. P Since we are gathered to hear God’s Word and call upon Him in prayer and

praise, let us first consider our unworthiness and confess before God and one another that we have sinned in thought, word, and deed, and that we cannot free ourselves from our sinful condition. Together as His people let us take refuge in the infinite mercy of God, our heavenly Father, seeking His grace for the sake of Christ, and saying: God, be merciful to me, a sinner.

Silence for reflection on our need for forgiveness

P We pray, C Almighty God, have mercy upon us, forgive us our sins, and lead us to

everlasting life. Amen. P Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake

Apostles’ Creed C I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell.

Prayers of the People L The Lord Jesus has promised that where two or three are gathered in His

name He is among us, and so we pray as His gathered people, confident that He hears us and cares for us:

That the Holy Spirit would grant us courage to speak Jesus’ name both to warn those in sin and to bring them the good news of forgiveness of their sins by His cross, let us pray to the Lord:

C Lord, have mercy.

L That the Father would grant healing and relief of pain for Bob, Libby, Kathleen, Carol, Kimberly, Michelle, Val, Dori, Tina, and everyone whose hurts weigh on our minds, that they would be restored to us and ultimately delivered to everlasting life, let us pray to the Lord:

C Lord, have mercy.

L That God would deliver us from the pandemic and other dangers, that He would give us good and honest leaders who will govern according to His will

for all just nations, that He would spare us from a sudden death, that He would provide harvests to feed all people and rain in due season, and that He would bring an end to violence, prejudice, and racism, let us pray to the Lord:

C Lord, have mercy.

L Hear us, O Lord Jesus, and take care of us who remain undeserving and simply in need of Your rescuing grace, because You reign with the Father and with the Holy Spirit, together one God and one Lord, now and forevermore.

While we have been part of the COVID pandemic disaster for five months now, the residents of The Ridge above Chico, CA, have been part of the CAMP FIRE DISASTER for 20 months and are now living through two disasters. Their first disaster began at 6:30 AM, 11/08/18. As soon as COVID related issues can be resolved, volunteers with construction and certified tree removal skills will be needed. If you, or a team of which you are a part, can travel to The Ridge with the ability to be self-contained (provide your own food, shelter, and equipment), contact me and I will help you coordinate where your skills might be employed and dates when they might be put into use. The 2020 FLOWER CHART - If you would like to sign up for flowers please call the church office. If you have a special occasion or in memory of someone, we can put that down as well. Cost is $40 per week if the florist provides (split between if multiple sign-ups for one Sunday) or you can provide your own flowers no later than 7:45 am on that Sunday, but you must sign up and let the office know so we can cancel our florist delivery.
