Zipcar Charity Drive is our way of recognising

our not-for-profit Zipcar for Business accounts and

doing our bit to tell the world about the amazing work

you’re doing.

This guide walks you through how it works, how to

get involved, and who to contact for more info.

Each month, Charity Drive highlights 3 not-for-profit

or charity Zipcar for Business accounts.

We share a little bit about each organisation, then

ask people to vote for the one that most deserves a

helping set of wheels from Zipcar.

The winner gets £150 driving credit to help them get

around, and all three reach a new online audience.

It’s win-win-win!

How does it work?

Each month we run the competition either on

Facebook or Twitter. Read on to see how each

format works.

We post a photo album on our ‘Zipcar UK’ Facebook

page containing the three logos of the charities

involved.

Each image also features a short paragraph

describing what the organisation does and a link to

their website.

Anyone can then vote for their chosen organisation

by ‘liking’ their logo in the Facebook album.

The organisation with the most ‘likes’ wins, it’s that

simple!

On Twitter, all we’ve got are the tweets. We post 2

letting our followers know we’re asking for their

votes:

…and then 3 ‘vote tweets’, one for each of the

organisations involved:

To vote, any Twitter user just needs to retweet (RT)

the tweet that features their favourite organisation.

We count up how many tweets include #CharityDrive

and each organisation’s @handle. The organisation

with the most, wins the prize!

How can I increase my chances of winning?

Campaign, campaign, campaign! We spread the

word on our Twitter feed and Facebook page but

there’s a lot you can do to get your audience

involved and gain those all-important votes.

Share on Facebook

Just head to our Facebook page, find the Charity

Drive post, and click ‘Share’.

You can then add your own comment and choose

where to share the album.

Shout about it on Twitter

Tell your followers about the competition (including

@ZipcarUK and #CharityDrive), or just retweet our

intro tweets to let people know:

Then ask people to retweet the ‘vote tweet’ to get

people voting:

Of course, you can campaign to get the votes any

way you like. Send out emails, share links on your

website, shout it from your office windows. Whatever

it takes to get noticed.

If you’d like to get stuck in but you’re feeling a bit

stuck, just ask and we’ll help out.

• Your organisation tagline (max 80 characters)

• Your website address

• Your Twitter handle (i.e. @ourname)

• Your Facebook page url
